Anyone else try new foods and get sick and vomit afterwards. My goodness, I don't know if I ate too much or my tummy didn't agree, but I spent the last ten minutes or so with my head in the garbage can...

Yesterday I went 5 hours between Breakfast and lunch. Wasn't planned, just happened. Well, since my surgery I have not had one single incident of nausea, vomiting, slimming (need a new word), or any yucky stomach incidents. So after getting a rotisserie chicken for the family dinner, I proceeded to sit in my car and stuff, yes stuff, my face with 4 very large quick bites of chicken breast. I now know what slimming (need a new word), and vomiting after eating TOO fast means. I will not try that ever again. Period. I've learned my lesson.

I suspect it's something we all can share a story or two on, amirite?

I'm certainly no different-- from the first time I tried a scrambled egg about 2-3 weeks post-surgery, to the trial and error of trying to include new foods back into the diet, and learning your lesson on foods that are just plain a bad idea (for me that's fried foods)... I've done more than my share of the "sliming" and vomit thing.

It's part of learning what our sleeves can and can't handle, at least in my experience. I can say now that at nearly eight months out, I feel like I have a very good grasp on what I can handle, in what quantities, and more importantly, what to say "no thanks" to. Probably been a good month and a half since my last incident.

You'll get there too! It's how we learn...

Cheers,

~Pat

Ive been vomiting almost daily, sometimes multiple times per day since surg sept 1. Im surprised I haven't hit my 130lb loss in just 30 days since almost nothing stays in! The doc said I'm creating too much stomach acid and that i need to take antacid 2x per day.

Its a terrible feeling and now since my stomach is so small the time frame from realization of how I'm feeling to the actual event is also much smaller.. .......

Im hoping it will calm down...Im thinking of going back to shakes and fluids only...maybe this will reset me?

What do you think....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
