Anyone get sick, vomiting, from the bowel prep. Mine involves 8 ounces of prep every ten minutes and then after an hour, take two different antibiotics (fast dissolving) 2 times an hour apart. Vomited 3 minutes after the first antibiotics, probably everything drank so far.

Worried if I cant get my bowel prep done, they will cancel surgery. they have told me to keep going and take the 2nd dose of antibiotics as planned. that will be at 4:25, hopefully they will stay down. It will give the doc thirty minutes to figure out plan B.

Oh no Smiley! You're going to be miserable. :(

I don't have to do one either. Well, that's what a friend told me who had the sleeve done about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I asked her because back in 2008 when I had my lapband done, I did have to do what. Drink this thick, clear, nasty stuff--You'd think after I'd done Clear liquids for 2 weeks, I would have been cleaned out! Guess not!

But my friend said they're not making us do those anymore. I'll know 100% on Wednesday when I go for my pre-surgery appointment.

My pre-op physical was so stupid. I had to see a Dr. I've never seen before. All he did was listen to my heart/ lungs. That's it. He said he'd send an "all clear" note to my surgeon. Ok. Fine with me I guess. But what a wasted trip!

NEWS FLASH!

I started a topic on the post-surgery Bypass Forum. It is called OCTOBER 2014. I thought we will all end up on the other side and we can all check back years down the road when we are in our rocking chairs as long as we check October 2014, the beginning of our new lives. I know it will divide the group but as more of us go the the other side I am thinking they would benefit from the expertise of the more seasoned Bypass folk on the Bypass post surgery forum. To love them you got to let them go but please don't forget about us, we'll get there, we are just a little behind you.

For now we can go back and forth between pre and post Forums or check both but we'll be together very soon.

:) Love you Gladiators

Anyone have any suggestions to avoid getting sick prior to surgery? Feels like I'm getting a sinus infection and I'm afraid I'll get cancelled. Suggestions?

l have serious sinus issues. I discovered a nettie pot. I use only Water that had been boiled, and faithfully do it everyday. Along with the saline packet. I have not needed antibiotics since I began several years ago. I am worried while in the hospital because I won't be able to do it. It's worth a shot.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
