Can you tell I haven't been on line for a while. I didn't do a chart but, I was trying to write every ones name in my book with their dates. I just want our October friends to know we care.Well I won't keep writing you (not tonight anyway). Have a good one.

Hello October I'm scheduled for VSG on October 14th- started my 2 weeks of Pre-Op liquids today. Didn't quite get all my Protein Shakes in. I have to start earlier tomorrow. I would enjoy conversation as we each move closer to procedure day. Right now I'm pooped headed to sleep.

Working at night sucks for calorie counting. My days are always confused.

One of my favorite Apps for tracking my daily food is MyfitnessPal.com I used it all last month and it helped me keep myself honest as I have no ideal how much I was eating before. Today Day 1 of pre-op Prep it helped

a lot as I reduced my calories goal down to 1,000 Cause I couldn't remember how many snakes I ate until I looked at what I listed earlier in the day.

Yep, Karen Allen is the trailblazer, she goes first (lol's I have scheduled my pedi as well. The hardest decision - what color to go with?)

Next we have AuriP on the 2nd

Then superbariatricbabe on the 6th

Then a crowd on the 7th, (6 by my count)

I actually made a chart. I was getting so confused. I know, I'm special that way.

If I forgot anyone please let me know!

If I get over this horrible cold, I'm on the 7th too!

Did anybody else have a problem with the pre-op diet? I have the full liquid 800 cal diet and I'm getting really bad heartburn, chest pains and nausea

Karen!! You're maybe even out of surgery already---but I'm praying all went well, or is going well if you're not out! Thanks for the pics!!! So excited for you!!!

Auri--I know what I'd be doing with no kids home! Heehee!!

Beni--Any way you could email your chart to me? If not, it's ok--I'll just write down names/dates as I catch them. If you want to, my email is amylynn@officetowne.net

Layknee-I never had those problems when I did the liquid diet before, Hmmm...I'd maybe run it by your Dr, maybe it's a common thing and they can tell you something different to try? I had a lot of nausea before my lapband surgery, but I had a hiatal hernia that pretty much made me sick every time I ate.

I have one now too, evidently, but I don't have the nausea so bad this time.

Sherrieb4health--I started feeling a cold coming on this morning too--went to bed with a headache and it was worse this morning, lots of sinus pressure. I use essential oils though, so I doused myself with them, so hoping it nips it quickly! I hope you get over yours quickly so it doesn't effect your surgery date!

Auri--SO excited for you too!!!

My surgery is tomorrow 10/1! I had a lap band 6 years ago and about a year ago started getting acid reflux at night. After I did the wonderful swallow test it was confirmed that my band had slipped. Dr took most of my Fluid out. Still had some acid reflux so new Dr wants to take out lap band and do the sleeve. He plans to do it all tomorrow as long as everything looks good. I am nervous and hope my surgery goes as planned. It helps knowing there is support here!

Note: my Dr says a lot of lap bands have been failing and they have been replacing them. I think it happened after a fill I had and couldn't eat so he took some Fluid out.

Good luck with your surgery today JRT!! I had some of the same problems with my band! But I had mine removed last December. The surgeon that removed it said I'd have to wait 6 months to have another procedure though, what the heck? But at that time, I was really motivated and figured, "I got this! I can do this on my own!" I was very determined. For 3 months straight, I worked out 6 days a week, I wore a FITBIT and used My Fitness Pal to track food, etc. In those 6 months, I lost 1 freaking pound! I was SO discouraged, went into a pretty dark place, and then very quickly gained a lot of weight. So in May, I said enough is enough and started the process to have RNY done.

Looking forward to hearing how your surgery goes!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
