Thank you so much! You've given me a lot to think about tonight and when I'm scouring the forums for info. Again, thank you so very much :) I'm on my phone, not my laptop, so do you mind letting me know how much you lost?

I am having trouble getting to my Protein quota set by my doctor; at least 75-85 grams per day. I have been mixing Protein Powder with Protein drinks just to get more in the mornings...but, boy oh boy, the calories add up. My morning routine comes to about 516 calories. That's one serving of Chobani yogurt with 1 packet of unflavored Protein power and one Lean Body Protein shake with one packet of unflavored Protein Powder. Those three items add up to more than half of the 800 calories I've been trying to stick to as advised for these first few months. I also take a handful of Vitamins which must be worth at least 5-10 calories each.

Wondering if anyone knows anything about GENEPRO Genetic Tri-Protein Peptide. It says it contains 30 grams of protein (instanized peptide whey, hydrolyzed whey, and genetic hexapeptide protein.

Is this the kind of protein I want and need? One thing nice is that the serving size (one scoop) is much smaller than the packets like unjury or Jarrrow Formulas, which I have been using. Plus it's only got 15mg of sodium. But is it the "right kind" of protein????

Thanks to anyone who can whey in on this topic :)

I do not use it myself but I have heard of it among others who do use it. I know it won an award last year and everyone who has anything to say about it says all good things. I hope someone has personal experiences with it that they can share.

Another things I recommend is muscle milk.. the taste leave a little to be desired but the sugar content and calories aren't too bad and they have 30gms of Protein in one

I put my question on a couple of the boards on this site. Hoping someone will have used it or some someone else who has. I just don't know what Protein peptides are. But boy, is it nice stuff...very fine, doesn't clump, and one serving is just a little scoop, maybe a tablespoon and a teaspoon measure. That's a lot nicer than the packets of Protein that are you have to blend and shake and really work hard to get it mixed into anything.

I've tried GENEPRO. That's what I currently use if I don't get enough throughout the day or something but I don't chose to use as an everyday thing. I hate powders and it's been easier to get down than any other powder I've tried, but a powder can only be so good.. I've found that if u mix it with something really cold like a smoothie or slush or really hot tea or coffee it tastes better.

I do t know about this protein, but I use premire Protein shakes. They are 30 gm of protein for 8 oz and they come in chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla. I get them at costco, but I've seen them at Walmart to.

Do you have a monthly chart?? I'm now 4 months out and would love to be in the 140s like you are. Just wondering if I'm on track!

I would love a seasoned sleever to buddy with. I was sleeved in Oct 2012 and lost just over 100 pounds. I've been off track for awhile and gained back almost 25 pounds.

I'm determined to get back on track and although I don't have to get as low as I was originally I do need to take off at least 15-20 pounds and more importantly eat right, exercise and not use food as a go to.

Thanks,

Pamela

It is exciting. Have you started your pre-op diet? Do you have to do one? I am 3 days in to mine and starving. I am also pretty nervous about the surgery. Sometimes, I wonder why in the world am I doing this and then I remind myself of all the reasons this weight has become unacceptable to me. How are you feeling about everything? My youngest is 14, my oldest is 23, and my middle child is 18. What does CW stand for? I am not up on all the abbreviations. lol

The beginning is the hardest. Walk walk and walk some more. It will help relieve the gas. Hiccups means you are taking in liquid too quickly. You should be taking baby sips (and no straws).

Message me if I can help.

Pamela

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
