Lost motivation and momentum

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I am 10 months out and down 115lbs. I usualy work out 4-5 times a week. Watch what I eat even allow for a treat every now and again. Haven't really been to the gym in 3 weeks. Something is always coming up. My fault for not prioritizing.

Thing of it is. I've lost my motivation and really down on myself. I've only lost 5lbs since my last fill about 6 weeks ago. I'm struggling. I'm trying to lose another 15lbs and would like to do it before my year is up.

My nut says I an to hard on myself. I tend to disagree. I'm so afraid of failing. I am lost. I know what I am doing wrong and keep screwing it up this past 6 weeks. I have my before pic and my pic from the doc currently got my 100lb pin. I have got the before pic up on the refrigerator. I don't want to go back to the old me.

Wow you have had an impressive loss!! Please cut yourself a little slack. Look at what you wrote. Look where you were ten months ago. This is not a race. You've changed your whole life. You're amazing ! A little slump is just that. If you're not going to the gym right now try to do other things like walk around the neighborhood on your work break. shake up your food plan a bit. I'm doing that right now because I developed an affinity for fried chicken strips and it was doing me no favors. We're gonna do this! We're in it for the long haul. Stay connected here and keep moving forward!!

I took on a new job last spring that totally wrecked my routine in regards to going to the gym, etc.....and I was getting down about it. Also fearing I would loose everything I had accomplished in terms of fitness, stamina, etc.

Fortunately, with this and other circumstances, I have found that the band does not change. It remains a constant regardless of what I am going through....so regardless of motivation, stress, illness, vacations-travel, parties...anything. The band is the band is the band. I may change and have ups and downs, but the band does not.

So I have no fear of failure or ever going backwards....just want to stay in top physical condition, or at least continue working at it....

Between changing jobs this summer and an injured back, I have had to limit my gym time. My weight loss has stalled a bit. But, heck...I'm such much better than I was a year ago! I am slowly getting back into the gym, walking, and riding my bike. I have to remember that I can't jump back in at the level I was before the injury...don't want to hurt it again :) So, don't be too hard on yourself. I know we all have goals, but life does happen. Trust your band to keep you in check :)

I was banded on 8/6/14 so far I have only lost about 10 pounds but I'm totally unmotivated. I haven't had a fill because of work I haven't been able to keep the two appointments I have made. I have being eating anything I used to eat before my surgery....I don't know how else I can hurt myself, has anyone done the same thing I have? my first fill will not happen until 10/2 maybe after that I can have the restriction I felt in the first two week after my surgery. I feel ashamed but I had to share this.

thank you,

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
