You give me hope. I am at bmi 36 too and have 100 as my wish list loss. I know people who weigh more lose mire faster at least at first. So, I was thinking that my journey would be slower. But now, just maybe it will be similar to yours.

Thanks fir sharing. My surgery date is in a couple weeks.. 10/13 I hope

This surgery has been amazing for me... no complications (other than a little pneumonia just after surgery)... staying on track... exercising like the Energizer Bunny... feeling like a million bucks.

Here's a little photo evidence of why...

You look amazing???? I'm still having a problem choosing between bypass or the sleeve what made you choose bypass.

@@UrCaliGirl I chose bypass for a couple of reasons. I wanted the surgery with the most historical data and best success rates. i also had pretty severe reflux and my surgeon and I both felt that would be made worse by the sleeve.

I also knew I needed help with the carb and sugar issue.. I was a major carboholic and I wanted the threat of dumping to help me avoid them. It's working like a charm so far! I've had 2-3 dumping episodes with either high fat or too much bread, so it's easy to say no to them now.

Best wishes!

@jessica2014 Those first weeks are the toughest... hang in there! I wasn't able to get 60 grams the first couple of weeks and now at 5 months out, I'm supposed to get 80 grams and it's very hard! I'm just not that hungry and all I eat is Protein, so it's hard to fit in more. Just do the best you can and try to meet those goals and stay on plan and you'll be successful! You can do this!

My profile pic in the Robin costume is at about 4-1/2 months... hit goal at 5 months and 12 days! :)

@@jessica2014 I'm right there with you I'm 6days post surgery & I'm doing good to drink 20 grams of Protein but hey we will get there ... My doctor keeps telling me as long as my Fluid intake stay at least 40oz right now he knows I'm staying some what hydrated ... But the threat of being re admitted to the hospital is helping keep me motivated to try harder I will admit

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
