I guess you can say that I have been eating all my favorites. I will only do it once a day because I don't want to go crazy and start gaining.... And I'm keeping the portions under control by sharing with my husband or eating half and saving the other half.

What about you two.... How's your eating right now? Are you exercising?

I walk two miles a day, And I haven't really had an appetite to be honest.

Lucky you.... I wish I could say I didn't have an appetite. I try to walk on the treadmill or on the track for 30-45 minutes, do 30 minutes on the bike and 20-30 minutes on the elliptical.

I prefer walking outside but the rain is too unpredictable and happens too frequently for that. I am trying to work my way up to spinning but I want to lose more weight first.

Yes I am eating all my favorites too. I guess my version of saying so long to food that will no longer be apart of my life.

My gsv brother who had surgery in March bought me a fit bit just yesterday. He said it will really help keep me motivated to move....plus he knows I'm extremely competitive and apparently you can link up with others who have it and compete with steps. I have only had it for two days and I really love it. Now my husband even wants one..(tracks your sleep too)

I'm pretty much sticking to walking these days it hurts my knees and back to much to do anything else. But look forward to doing more soon :)

Apparently walking is really important after surgery

I am staying in hospital 2 nights.

I will def give GNC shakes a try. Thanks

They have chocolate and vanilla single packets that are around 2 bucks.... So you can try them before buying a bag.

The bag is around $25 and the containers (2 sizes) are $35-$45. They also have the ready to drink 4 packs.... I'm always afraid those will taste too sweet though, I like being able to control the taste depending on my mood.

GNC has a card that is $15 but you save money on what you buy so it works out better.

Okay Thanks AngelicHG7, I'm going to go by GNC today and try them out. And oh yea I own the GNC card.

I had an appt with my surgeon this morning... Just to sign the consent forms and answer any of my questions. I am sure it's really to get a face to face before surgery.

I went to the store and got some low sodium chicken broth and SF Jello. I can't find already made SF pudding though. :(

I am mentally packing my hospital bag.

I am scheduled the 9th. On my third day of preop diet. (My husband is keeping busy.... Says he doesn't want to poke the bear! Guess I have been grouchy! Lol) Don't remember ever wanting time to pass this bad since waiting for my 20 yr old daughter to be born! Tick-tick-tock. Sigh....

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
