Hi I am almost 9 weeks out and was wondering how many calories you are or were averaging at this stage. Today I got almost 1500, is that too much?

My doctor doesn't really go by calories. However, based on all the threads I've read here, 1500 seems like a lot. Some people stay around 1200 calories until they want to stop losing weight. I guess it also depends on how much you exercise. I would definitely talk to your surgeon and see what he or she recommends. Good luck.

I am just a little over 8 months out and I am under 1000. I exercise quite a bit too (walk 3.5 miles 2-3 times a week). Everyone is certainly different but 1500 seems extremely high to me. Consult your NUT or doc.

10 months out and average between 800-900/day. On rare occasions I'll hit 1000.

I am only 3 weeks out, but my doc has me between 600-800 for the first few months, and then no more than 1000 beyond that, and adjusting if necessary during my check ups every three months. Follow whatever your doc recommends. I'm sure it depends on your current weight and how much you needed to lose as well. I'm curious if you're drinking with your meals? I know I'm not as far out as you but I can't imagine our tiny stomachs being able to take 1500 calories a day this early on, otherwise.

My Dr. and Nut never mentioned calorie intact, but I am tracking it out of interest. I am 2 weeks post-op and I eat between 600-800 daily. I'm stuffed with that amount!

I'm 27 weeks out, and I rarely ever go over 950 calories. But usually it's somewhere between 700-900. I don't think I could get close to 1500 calories, unless I ate naughty foods.

My surgery was done January 21 and I have not had over 700 calories I can't eat anything consistently I throw up all the time. 1200 is way too high. But I'm down 220 lbs

I am four months out. I was told I should be averaging between 800 and 1200 calories per day. I work out pretty intensely (I can be in the gym up to 2 hours some days) and typically get near 1200 on gym days. But not always. Yesterday the tank just didn't want more than 800 (and I swam for 40 minutes). On my off days I stick to around 800 or 900.

I just started tracking calories and I dont think I usually eat that many calories but I was curious as to what I should be averaging. Thanks all!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
