Surgeon's office meltdown ahead of Monday VSG surgery. What to do?

Recommended Posts

It sounds like you've researched well. Do your surgery on Monday. Believe it or not, surgeons really have nothing to do with the actual scheduling of surgery, and that includes the line up on surgery day. Unless you have an appointment like a day or so before the actual surgery, they'll remember you, otherwise they have no idea who is showing up on surgery day or what order patients will be in. This clusterf***k is entirely due to the office staff, not the surgeon.....and he didn't hire any of that staff anyway. I totally get your frustration, but don't let that hinder your plans. You've done everything right. Now if you show up on Monday and something is amidst, raise hell. I think you'll be fine and best wishes to you!

How did this turn out? How are you? Did you have the surgery?

I say go with your gut instincts. If you don't have a peace about it now, then wait. This is too serious of a situation to go into it "hoping"" folks will have it together. I mean it's one thing to doubt based on your own innate fears but another to doubt based on your experience. Surgery is more than the doctor. Can you trust that his team will have your vital statistics right? That he is given the right information? Are they too hurried at this point? The doctor has to be able to trust his team before he performs an operation... And you do, too. Yes, you need to have a discussion with him if only to inform him about the situation. If you don't feel good about it like you did before this, then go to another doctor, or reschedule a later time to be assured nothing is overlooked.

Just a quick update...surgery went well. Everything went smoothly. My surgeon did a great job, the facility was wonderful, and my recovery is crawling along. Still pretty weak and gassy, but I've come to expect I'm right about where I should be on day 5.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
