Checking in to see how everyone did over Thanksgiving? I had a bite or two of turkey, stuffing, and potatoes and it was wonderful :D

Nikky you look amazing!

For Thanksgiving I did pretty darn good. Amanda (my stomach) didn't let me eat much but we handled it pretty well.

@@10 28 2014, thanksgiving was excellent. I was very very concerned about watching everyone else eat things I couldn't have. But I actually enjoyed my meal. I probably had 2 ounces of turkey, dressing (or stuffing as some people call it) and candied sweet potato. Prob a couple spoonfuls of each. I know, I know, carbs but hey it was turkey day. I don't think I ever paid attention to everyone's plate before this past Thanksgiving. I was amazed at how much food people had on their plate and I remember that was me last year. I loved that I didn't feel deprived.

I had a bit of everything as well. Ate at my mom's = Cornish hen, stuffing, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, broccoli & cauliflower cheese bake, and sweet potato pie.

To go plate from stop #2- 2 kinds of turkey, greens, dressing, mac & cheese, fruit tart, potato salad

To go plate from stop #3 - turkey, greens, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, dressing, Apple pie

I still have leftovers lol. I couldn't break tradition and not visit everyone like I normally do. Since I didn't share my surgery with anyone other than those I ate with at my mom's, I didn't eat at anyone else's house to avoid them looking at me like I was weird. I stopped by later in the evening after everyone was done eating and just said I was still full but would take a plate home. No questions asked!

Terrible, horrible no good day.... I could use some advice..... Yesterday was my first day on regular foods, I had some leftover green bean casserole (a tablespoon) some mushed up meatloaf and for dinner I had some chicken thigh. Today I am having um movement problems so to speak.... This may be too much info but does an internal hemmroid make you feel constipated? Passing gas and small amounts of liquid poo (sorry forTMI) not sure what's happening but pretty miserable, took about 10 hot showers the heat seemed to help. I have a hernia that needs to be repaired and one that was repaired during VSG so I don't want to umm bear down lol. Will try the aloe Vera juice my nut recommends. Just not sure if it's hemmroid or Constipation.< /p>

@@Vsglady, so sorry you're not feeling well. plum smart lite juice helped me & I've been regular since (about six weeks now).

I read on another thread someone mentioned Prunes or prune juice or Smooth Move, Which you take at night. Hope you get relief soon.

Milk of Magnesia is also gentle on the GI system. It could also be your body adjusting to the different diet. Red meat is tough to digest and break, as well as some veggies. Hopefully it will resolve soon. Try some options that will help you go without much effort on ur part (little to no straining)

Is it better to eat three meals a day or every three hours?

@nikkydizzle you are looking good, what great progress. As far as @VSgladlady, so sorry to hear :) I think Hemorrhoids can definitely make it feel as if something is in there.

VSGLady, I feel your pain! My program says to use Colace, and it is gentle enough to use daily. Hopefully some combination of these things will help you!

So I wanted to talk a little bit about my progress so far! I'm seven weeks out from surgery, and I've lost just under 70 pounds, 37.4 of which were post-surgery. Looking in the mirror, I don't think I look very different, but others have told me that I do. I have noticed the difference in clothes; I'm down 1-2 sizes in pants and 2-3 in tops. Fortunately I have about five different sizes of clothes in my closet, so I should be good for another few months before I have to shop much.

Mostly though, in the last week I've been noticing a significant improvement in my mobility. My bad knee is much improved, to the point that I have gone from needing a cane every day to only needing it if I'm going to be out and walking for several hours. I can stand and walk for extended periods of time, where at my highest weight I could barely walk or stand for 5-10 minutes before my back and my knee were in so much pain I had to sit. I couldn't even cook dinner without taking breaks, I would be in so much pain. Now, that back pain is gone, and I stand and walk without even thinking about it.

I'm hoping that I'll continue to lose weight and improve my health in various ways, but I'm so glad that my most severe problems are already so much better. It's very encouraging and gives me hope for the future!

Im 8 weeks out and have only lost about 27 pounds but was able to stop taking blood pressure medicine two weeks after surgery. I also took metformin for the last 13 years too. Im mefs free so im very happy even though the weight isnt moving as quickly as I would like.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
