Another suggestion for those getting or recently sleeved my drs rule of thumb if you haven't gotten a flu shot yet , to wait until 2 weeks after surgery to get one.

My job requires a flu shot (I work in a hospital). I told them to hold mine because I wasn't coming back before the deadline to get one and I'm not getting one before surgery. I always get sick behind them.

@@Meonthelist what about adding some Protein Powder plain or chicken Soup flavored to your soup or to mashed potatoes etc. from what I gather amounts and preferences vary greatly and they just want you to try.. Don't be discouraged if you're not into a wide variety of mush. I just got off the phone with my NUT because I was concerned that I never had any problem with taking my liquids and Vitamins, I thought it was too easy. Lol. She said it's fine. You sound like you're doing great! Two pounds a week!!!

Had my one week post op yesterday and my dr. Didn't look at my incisions. Later, after already having left the office, I felt uncomfortable with the fact that he didn't physically examine me. I know he knows what he's doing but....

He did ask how I felt and I said great, getting stronger everyday. Does anyone think it's odd? What was your post op like?

My surgeon checked my incisions at my post op.

@@Vsglady You're only one week out so I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't even have a post-op appt until day 16 and he only removed the coverings after I asked him about it.

My surgeon checked my incisions and even cleaned one of them (by my belly button) and gave me additional care instructions. I'm sure if you mentioned it he would have. Maybe at your next appointment mention it to him and sees what he says.

@@Meonthelist, I highly doubt that you stretched out your sleeve. But to be safe, contact your nutritionist to find out how much Soup you're allowed. I was allowed one cup if it's broth & half cup if creamy. you'll find through reading the posts that there are so many differences with each doctor.

@Meonthelist it takes more solid stuff to stretch it really. The liquids travel pretty easily through the stomach and into the GI. I was allowed only 2-3 oz at first and worked my way up to 4-6oz.

my first post op will be at 2 weeks. I was given a list of my post op appointments timeline. It listed when a follow up was expected, who I would be seeing, and what is expected to be done at that specific appt (physical, blood work, NUT eval, etc).

I left a message with the office and a nurse called back this afternoon and apologized and said that they made a mistake and spoke to me for awhile. I' m sure if I needed to she would have made an appointment but since I will be seeing my primary on Mon I figure things should be fine.

On another note... Rough day. I could only get in a very small amount of my Protein shake and I was done. My stomach hurt and just had no appetite for it. Although I was able to get my Water and Gatorade and Vitamins in. Is easing into the shakes to be expected?

Sleeved Oct 7 and I have hit that dreaded three week stall. I haven't lost any inches in a week and no weight loss for four days..I'm also still exhausted. I feel like I could sleep all day and all night! I'm so depressed because I feel like this isn't going to work for me like everything else. Anyone ever feel this way?

Yes! I'm in the exact same place! Sleeved the same day! So frustrated.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
