Protein, water, and substance... oh my!

I am a week and a half post-op and starting to feel A LOT better! However, I am having trouble getting all my required stuff in. I know I am not expected to get all my daily water, all my protein, etc yet but I am struggling to get a decent amount in. Going from someone who was hungry all the time to hardly ever hungry is making me forgetful. I for some reason am having a very hard time remembering to get a sufficient amount of water and protein in. Any tips on how to help myself remember? I don't want to lose any muscle mass or get dehydrated, so I know I need to do this right. Any suggestions?

How about a reminder app like AIDAreminder on your Iphone? You can set up voice and even photo reminders on your smart phone. It's free and I use it for everything.

I had to set my cell phone timer to go off every 15 minutes as a reminder for me to drink fluids. It may seem a little extreme but it worked. I was able to get all Water and Protein. Also, I used 1 oz medicine cups and put 8 ozs fluids and just lined the cups up. Every time the timer went off, I drank an ounce.

Hope this helps! Congrats on your surgery!
