For example I was drinking pure apple juice today wich is on my diet list and it has 15g of sugar... whare do you draw the line?

My nurse has said to remember "sweet 16". Sugar grams per meal should be less than 16.

I recall that one teaspoon of sugar equals 4 grams of sugar. If I am incorrect, PLEASE let me know. When faced with a 16 grams of sugar in my drink, it gives me a reason to pause; can I imagine adding 4 teaspoons of sugar in my drink? Mostly no.

I looked it up and yes, 1 tsp sugar is 4 grams. I also looked up how much sugar in 1 cup of apple juice and it's 24. I believe when my surgeons nurse says "sweet 16" (and that's just my surgeon, someone else's dr might say something different), she intends it to be for an entire meal, not a drink. Also, just because you can have 16 grams of sugar per meal, doesn't mean you have to.

My nutritionist says to opt for 10 or less carbs per serving. The best indicator is your weight loss. If you seem to be stalling more, then consider reducing the carbs. It's always preferable to get in protein over carbs.
