HI Everyone,

I was banded a month ago on March 28th. Everything is going well. I don't seem to have any complications at all.

However, I am a worrier and spend a lot of time stressing about whether everything is all right inside. I'm convinced that my band is going to slip sometime soon.

Is it possible to have some kind of x-ray just to check that everything is fine?

Hi Dave,

If your doctor does fills under fluoroscope, that IS an x-ray. He'll be able to see the position of your band and the speed with which Fluid passes through the stoma. This is one of the major reasons doctors who use fluoroscopy do so. Each fill is also a band checkup.

But unless you are having symptoms, there's no point in having a fluoroscope test "just because." It's expensive, for one thing, and would be a waste of resources. If you want to foot the bill you might be able to arrange one, but I'm sure your doctor would prefer that you try not to worry.

If you have followed post op directions as to diet and have no symptoms of pain, vomitting, heartburn etc. then you have nothing to worry about. Most doctors don't like to radiate people any more than is necessary.
