@@Karen Scott Im one of those strange people I guess that I like the tartness of the fage yogurt - but Ive tried it with not only the Torani Syrup but also crystal light flavors... or sugar free Jello or puddings powders... changes the flavors - and there is a vast variety of flavors then.

I leave for Mexico one week from today... Im all packed and ready to go... but mentally Im spinning out of control! LOL calm one minute, emotional the next... I have essential oils for calmness... been using that.. and it helps!

I'm on day 4 of my pre op diet, which consists of 2 high Protein Shakes and a lean meat and green veggie dinner with two Snacks. the first two days were rough as hell. I cheated on the second day, I ate some fries, I felt so awful about it I dnt think I'll ever do it again. it wasn't worth it. I'm not required to loose weight but my surgeon said a light liver makes the surgery easier. I never realized how much my life revolved around food. today I feel good and comfortable with my diet. I dnt get hungry as much as I just want to eat lol. I was a grazer and snacker. but I'm not anymore and I'm ok with it! my surgery is August 25th so one more week, I'm so happy! good luck to everyone!

Hhp29. I've lost only 7 lbs as of yesterday. I hope to lose at least 10 by Wednesday morning before surgery. I haven't eaten any carbs which should shrink my liver I hope.

Well it's 3 in the morning the day after my surgery and I am wide awake so I thought I write how it went. I actually didn't have any anxiety coming in I really thought I was gonna get it bad, but I stayed pretty calm. As I am sure some people do I was questioning if I was doing the right thing, but told myself it is what it is and what is meant to be. So everyone here at the hospital has been super super nice. The whole process has been pretty smoothe. I met a bunch of people while in "holding" before I went into the OR. They gave me a little versed IV before to calm my nerves, then when wheeled into the OR and transferred onto the table they didn't waste anytime getting me under lol. When I woke up that was what I feared the most prior to surgery, how much pain I was going to be in. Now I can't lie I was definitely uncomfortable, but they medicated me pretty well. When I was transferred into my room they hooked me up to a PCA pump which has become my new best friend lol. Right now I am just sore and the "pain" I get I can only explain as this. On my right side it feels like that cramp you get when you ate to much and then went swimming, that's how it feels. Oh and I have to be NPO until this morning when they take me to do a swallow test to check for leaks, then I can start having fluids. I can actually say I am not hungry but my throat is soooo dry. Trying to talk to people hurts sometimes. I get to rub wet sponges in my mouth but it's my throat that's so dry. I have gotten up and walked 3 times and have transferred to the chair a few times. I can't express how important it is to get up and walk. It has helped me in feeling better. I was not afraid to use my PCA pump either. They told me the first time I was going to get up around 5 so at 4 I started loading up, I was allowed to hit my button every 6 mins. Some people may not be able to tolerate that, but it worked for me. They also have been giving me "reglan" not sure how it's spelt to help with nausea which has made the pain meds tolerable. All and all I am doing pretty good and I won't be in a rush to get home LOL. I am writing this because I know I look to see how others have expierenced stuff and one thing I wanted to know the most is the pain! So after I finally get to have some liquids I will come back and let you know how it goes. For all those getting sleeved soon I wish you the best of luck. I hope this helps someone.

I can definitely relate. I learned how to space my meals and to consume lots of watere to help me stay satisified. I think it is even harder when you are a grazer. Even if I am putting food away for the night, I am grazing, lol. At least when I did slip on the pre-op, it was with Proteins and not junk. Today is day 7 for me and it is a lot better. I am due for surgery the day after you. Let's stay focused!

Surgery went well yesterday going home tomorrow, as long as I can get this gas pain and nausea under control. Good look to those waiting your turn.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
