So, some of you know my story..it's long and kind of sad but in one week from today everything is going to change hopefully for the better. Everyone keeps telling me I'm due for some good luck and I was believing them until I called my primary care doctor today to set up a post-op appointment and they told me she is leaving the state on the 4th so won't be able to see me again. I just burst into tears..I'm kind of emotionally charged right now and getting this news exactly one week from surgery is seriously freaking me out. What if someone up above doesn't agree that I'm due for some good luck and this is just a sign :( I'm probably being really dramatic but I had just found this doctor and she was amazing and now she's gone. My last primary care doctor left the state in January so I'm just not having good luck staying with a doctor and I have to start all over AGAIN for the second time in the same year. She was helping me manage my pain medicine and was really understanding and understood why I needed it and didn't think I was a drug addict (I'm not but it always freaks me out to take narcotics, I've never even smoked a cigarette much less abused any substance) and she had a plan to help me stop taking them since I've been on them for a long time. Now I don't have anyone to help me ease off of them, she gave me a name of a doctor in a different practice and I set up a post-op appointment with her so I'm just praying that I'll like her and she will be half as nice as my last one.

Please tell me that I'm being dramatic and this isn't a sign that my surgery is going to fail :( I'm freaking out..

Becky relax. S**t happens. You'll be fine. The doctor had referred you will send her notes to them. I have the same problem. The doctor who got me started on this journey is leaving. So now I have to get used to someone new. Stressing yourself out will not help your recovery. So breathe in breathe out and move on. You got this!

Becky, Sweet girl.

You will be ok. I just know it. Don't worry so much about the pain meds. You can taper off them by yourself if need be. Since your surgery is next week, I think I would start tapering off now. I don't know how many you take but start taking less by 1/2 dose for three days then take one pill lessfor 3 days and so on. Taper off even it if takes until after surgery. If the dose is every 4 hours, take every 8, then drop by one pill everyday until you get to one a day. You can do this. You need this surgery and have been so sick for too long. You will do great!! You are one of the nicest young women I've met online and I'm going to do my best to come and see you in the hospital next week. You are going to be so much better. Go into this with a smile. It is going to be OK! :)

Praying for you and God is good even though sometimes we question our lives. Put your trust in HIM!!! Faith and trust little girl! <3 Much love!

Thank you so much both of you...I just really didn't need this :( but I'm hoping everything will be okay. I'm taking deep breaths, I'm just so ready to feel better. I hope you get to come see me while I'm in the hospital Lisa, that would be amazing! I don't know why this affected me so badly..usually I have everything held together better but I think I'm just really nervous and I lost it. I just pray that I really am due for some good luck and this didn't mean anything bad...

Deep breaths..very calming.

You will do great I have a feeling this is just a slight Detour in your path that you will go around it and come out the other side just fine.

Life is so unpredictable and you never know what is going to be thrown at you but so far you have dealt with things very well and you will continue to do so.

Watch something funny that will help lighten your mood.

Don't let anything or anyone stand in your way of getting what you want out of life.

This surgery will make you feel so much better about yourself.

Just take it one small step at a time and chip away at what you want.

You take care and the very best of luck to you for your upcoming surgery.

Some people call it luck and others make "luck" happen :) you seem like a smart lady and in tune to things. If your new doc isnt what you're looking for find a new one until you are comfortable. I could see how being nervous of loosing your doc you trusted very much can feel like another road block that has you tripped up. Brush your bottom off and keep charging forward- you got this! You've done a lot to get to today. Take that strength you've built so far and keep building on it moving forward.

Wish you the best!

Yes, thank you all..I'll find another doctor that I like hopefully soon! I'm so nervous but I keep chanting that I'll be fine...this is kind of a sucky outlook and I'm seriously knocking on some wood but at this point for me specifically I'm not sure there is any way to go but up because it can't get a lot worse than what it is now right? I'm not even letting you guys answer that..it can only get better because there is no going backwards!

We will all be fine..I very much like that word :)

Yes, I'm doing very very good! My recovery is going super smooth and I feel great, no more pain from swallowing! I'm still sore from surgery but that's normal and I feel better a little more everyday :) no nausea or complications though!! (knock on wood!!)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
