what should my protein goal be 1 week post op?

I haven't been keeping track of protein grams and just trying to focus on my liquids, getting my meds in and trying some protein shakes. Anyone have a # goal at this stage in the game?

There are plenty of variations on different surgeon's postop plans, and technically everyone's size and gender should play a role in the exact amount, but the most common goal seems to be 60 grams.

Right my book says work up to 60 grams. At this point though what should I be able to reach?

I was getting 60 g most days by about 5 days out. The best way I found was to mix my shakes with skim milk. For example, 11 oz premier protein mixed with 11 oz milk = 41g protein. Then a scoop of Syntrax nectar or Garden of Life Raw Fit in 16oz water added another 23 - 28g. Or a scoop of Unjury unflavored in broth added 21g. A lot of days it was easier to get 60g protein than it was to get 64oz water.

I was getting in about 30 grams that early out. Don't stress. Hydration is more important right now. I set an eating and drinking schedule early on and that helped. I also added powdered milk to things to help boost the protein.
