peripheral neuropathy post VSG?

I am having severe and intractable pain in my legs and feet and hands.....since the surgery 11 months ago.....I had the surgery at mt. sinai hospital with dr. herron.......anyone ever suffer any of these symptoms ? I also have mal absorbtion..........

Yes I have that. Other things also.

Any idea of what causes it? If you have malabsorption issues, that certainly could, but this isn't the first time I've heard it. Is anyone getting an explanation?

There is a small body of research, indicating malnutrition. Not being able to absorb things would be a part of that. I've got a few things that surfaced since the surgery (but weren't recognized by the surgeon nor his internist that he referred me to) and gastroparesis which apparently didn't get resolved, so it would make sense.

Possible B Vitamins and Calcium being the first places to look.

I get foot cramps in the am but it's usually because I haven't had enough potassium and/or haven't gotten enough water in after I exercise. .
