Stall over baby!!!

weighed this AM and scale has moved 2 lbs south-ward! whoop! feeling better already.

hang in there everyone, this obviously is normal and MANY people go through it. i suspect at this early point it's just our bodies hitting the emergency break and saying 'hold on..." in response to our VERY decreased calories and shock of surgery, etc. i too will just keep my routine and keep doing what i am. this mini-stall lasted 8 days for me. hopefully everyone else will see similar movement soon!

I think, I hope my stall is over. I weighed this morning and I was down two pounds. I feel better now that the scale has moved. Don't know how but I gained 5 pounds since I started on soft foods and going to the gym. I can't even eat 3 oz of food at a time and I haven't been skipping meals. I still have to drink 2 Protein Shakes a day to get all my Protein in. So frustrating!!!!

i'm still on shakes and plan to be for quite a while. my nut said it would be 9-12 months before i could eat enough to get my Protein needs through just food alone. hang in there!

I have been at a stall for 10 days. When is a stall to long?

The surgeons office told me to contact them if it lasted more than 2 weeks.

My only plateau occurred at 7 months (after losing 100 pounds) and lasted almost 2 months. I thought my losing was done and was content enough to be size 10 but then I began losing again and lost 20 more pounds. I'm a size 6 now and have been holding steady at around 115-118 for 3 months.

So I guess my point is that there is no 'standard' stall time. It can last a week or a couple months. Hang in there, follow your plan as closely as possible, take measurements, and stop weighing yourself so often. The scale number is not the only way to measure our progress and successes. How you feel, what you can now do, how things fit, improving your health - all of these are more important than the number.

When I started I had no specific weight goal, nor did my doctor set one for me. I told him that I wanted to be healthy and feel good which he agreed was a reasonable, achievable goal. I achieved that by three months out. Each change afterwards was a wonderful gift that continued to surprise and delight me. :-)

So glad to hear about the 3-week stall.. I too have stalled at 3 weeks and even gained 2 pounds.. I'm suppose to start soft foods on Thursday... I was worried I was eating to much soup..LOL.. But all this sounds pretty normal..

The only difference is, I don't think I'm getting enough fluids or protein.. I need to work harder on that...

So nice to be able to read about everyone and share.. Thanks!

I am 3 weeks post op and gained 2 pounds.. After reading about the 3-weel stall I think we are beating ourselves to much.. It seems we are right on track.. I started walking 1 week ago.. I don't think I'm drinking enough fluids to make up for the sweating.. Going to really push the fluids.. Hang in there! We can do it!

3weeks post op and I gained a pound!!! Was wondering if its bc my BM diminished when I went to pureed. Lost 11lbs the first week and 11lbs the second week. Must not be drinking enough Water or eating through the surgery. So frustrating and disappointed in myself. Know I have ro exercise more.

So frustrated: today is 3 weeks out and I have been stuck at 18 lbs for close to a week! I'm thrilled that it appears to be normal, but does anyone have suggestions on "jumpstarting" it again?

well dang it, i fear i AM still in a stall and though the scale moved just a bit, it's still there after another 5 days. ugh! i've read MANY threads about stalls and i know that this can last weeks before it starts moving again. i told my hubs i'm a little disappointed, having lost 30 lbs total (pre op and since surgery) but he pointed out i have NEVER lost close to that on my own!

he's right and i'm just keeping my eyes on the prize and working my program.

I feel the same way as you.. I think we seen that first 30 drop off so fast we didn't want it to stop!.. My hubby tells me the same thing.. I'm also thinking if we walk and don't lose it so fast maybe we won't have the loose skin..

I was just thinking this morning I really need to get to know my body better.. I need to get more Protein in also..

Maybe change things up a little.. Hang in there!.. We made it thru the hardest part.. The rest has to be easier..

Just wait until you are 5-6 months out and the stalls last and lasts for weeks! Not fun! I am 6 months out with a 78 lb loss and the scales haven't moved for over three weeks! I want to hit that 80 lb loss so badly! I think my body is just starting to say WHOA..slow that loss down. I have upped my exercise and hopefully will start losing again! just 20 more pounds to hit both goal weight and 100 lb loss! I get so many compliments and shocked looks....that it's all worth it. I can't believe how physically wonderful I feel also and feeling good about my self in pictures. Don't sweat those small stalls!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
