Dr. Jalil Illan with Baja Bariatrics and Omar Acosta - A Warning

Recommended Posts

This post is my first and most likely my last I refuse to call myself a victim because I truly feel that term is being used very loosely. I'll call my self a complete fool! I am a female that got hooked line and sinker. I have had a real, so I thought relationship with this person for almost 3 years! (So no I didn't have surgery with Dr Illan.) He actually just called it off LAST month. He claimed that due to personal issues he just needed space. I totally understood, plus I'm currently finishing up my degree in the Fall and don't have much free time to travel to MX for my monthly weekend getaway. We continued to talk daily and one day last week he told me he was being black mailed by a couple of former patients. He didn't act concerned and we started joking around about it. I've always been well aware of how females throw themselves at him and sending him pictures that make you want to stick pencils in your eyeballs but he has always been honest about it. We would often joke about how crazy they were about him. I'm not the jealous type and I felt this was all one sided. The things these women would text or email was out there. At the time I called it stalker behavior and told him many times to be careful. Now I see why..

Reading all this I'm just like wow! I'm sick to my stomach. I really felt what we had was real. I still don't understand how he kept up with so many females at the same time. It just boggles my mind . How didn't these ladies not know he was involved with me!, Was this just a game? Did the I love you's mean nothing, all the planes we made, was I really this blind?!

As bad as it sounds at least I got my sleeve, plastics and very nice gifts out of the deal. I admit he treated me like a queen. I never had any reason to doubt him.

My heart goes out to all the women that was caught up in his path. To the other ladies that was brave enough to post your story yes you will be judged by a few and maybe even bullied but when we stand in silence they win. I'm aware that a certain person has her legal team trying to help start legal actions against the the OP, the site owner and of course any female that does post any screen shots or etc. The main goal is to keep "Team Illan" strong and safe from bad press. So I want to urge you not to let this prevent you from speaking out. The strength is in the numbers . Please feel free to private msg me and I will gladly give you my email or phone number so we can chat. I don't see myself coming back in this thread because it's full of heartache and anger. I don't have time to go tick for tac with the "fan club" I refuse to allow anyone to take the joy I do have.

Dr Illan is a great doctor so I hate to see what this does to him. My mother and sister both had

Surgery with him and couldn't be happier.

So yes it's all true, the stories are real and females got hurt. Don't be so quick to judge if you don't know the full story.

Wish someone would tell us the full story we are only getting bits and pieces.

MXtransformed... pretty serious accusations so I assume you have verification?

. Well if the words out of his own mouth about this isn't proof, then the text conversations we had about his deportation status should be. I don't have to prove anything to you and as far as anybody claiming slander against me, Susan, Alex or anyone else who speaks out, well Omar is in Mexico and just as we who have been part of his game and also anyone who has had a botched surgery there, has no recourse neither does he against any of us here in the US. Turn about is fair play, but like I said, Omar told me himself about his time in prison, about his deportation and also about the gang he was not only leader of but also the founded of. He wears those suits and long sleeves for a reason, he wouldn't want patients to see his gang related tattoos!

I had a good experience with the team, but I am sorry to hear your story. I'm sure this isn't fun to hear about a long-term relationship. Best wishes to you and your family.

And yet, knowing all of these negative things that you now use against Omar to discredit him, you were not turned off by them enough to avoid an intimate relationship with him while still a married woman. I find that very interesting and very telling. I don't think Omar is a saint, not even close. You certainly don't come out of this smelling like roses either. All of you should be ashamed of your behavior

Sorry for the messed up post above. What I said to MX transformed was:

And yet, knowing all of these negative things that you now use against Omar to discredit him, you were not turned off by them enough to avoid an intimate relationship with him while still a married woman. I find that very interesting and very telling. I don't think Omar is a saint, not even close. You certainly don't come out of this smelling like roses either. She did not say the above paragraph as the quote box in the precious post implied.

Heather, yes, that was my thread about my experience with my surgeon.

There is an important message here to be heard.  If you are traveling to Mexico, please be advised there are people who are willing to take advantage of you for their own personal needs.  They understand you are in a very vulnerable state.

Since you single out Mexico it appears you are under the impression this does not happen in any other country, otherwise why single out just one country?  It happens in the US all the time.  Need proof?

I have been following this and I can tell there are alot of personal issues between some of you all.

Having had my surgery in Mexico, I will say there are HUGE differences between our medical systems and theirs. Behavior like this would not be allowed in the United States and Omar would be fired and there could be a lawsuit.

I do think it's a good warning to give people and they can do what they want with it.

Y'all are making this into something much bigger than it needs to be.

It is not tolerated in Mexico either but if nobody reports it, nothing will happen to resolve it.

I am not denying anything. I am simply saying 3 of these woman were fully aware of what was happening and were o.k. with it, until they got dumped! They were not taken advantage of in ANY way.

Do you want me to break out the f**king crayons and draw you pictures?

You really have no grasp of Medical Ethics, do you?

Yes, by all means, ban us, block us, delete almost all of our posts. You have got quite the little system here Alex. You and your little workers can say ANYTHING you want and it's fine. What a power trip!

You are free to start your own page and then you too, can have "power".

.  and also anyone who has had a botched surgery there, has no recourse neither does he against any of us here in the US. Turn about is fair play, but like I said, Omar told me himself about his time in prison, about his deportation and also about the gang he was not only leader of but also the founded of. No recourse?  Says who?

Is that true? I don't think he is married unless he's separated. He works really long hours and we all spoke to him a lot and he never mentioned being married. Not saying he's not but I certainly didn't get the impression he had a family at home.

Duh! What an enlightening comment from such a mature person.

As I said, he may very well be married but a group of us including a husband went out to dinner with him twice and had great conversation about our families since we all had kids. He didn't have a shot with any of us and still didn't chime in with anything about a wife or children. He did mention feeling sorry for his German Shepard that he rarely gets to see due to long hours.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
