I was sleeved on 9/3. Discharged on 9/5. The only thing i needed out of my bag were, chapstick, gas x strips, tooth brush and toothe paste, scrunchy to keep my hair back, a maxi dress that i wore to the hospital, flip flops and my cell phone with charger! Thats all i used out of my bag.

But will they allow you to use gas X while you are in the hospital? I would think they have their own medicine

@@aloudwhisper I brought Gas X strips but was told not to take them. I've heard from many others that walking is the best thing, and that's what I did. The things I brought in and used were: Phone, Laptop and Chargers, PJs, and chapstick (although the first thing my nurse handed me in the room was a chapstick so I didn't need to bring my own). Good Luck!!

Well I think they will be on it, cause all of those things will be in that hospital bill. Lol! I purchased my gas x chewable for my return. I think I will go ahead and purchase my Isopure. Cause I am not sure my stomach will be ready for anything milky

@@Chuchie05, I could not follow the prep diet at all. Every day I failed. I tried my best and was able to almost completely avoid carbs. For the last 2 days I was supposed to be on ALL liquids and because of my guilt, etc. I ended up doing that for 3 days. Those were the hardest days BY FAR of the entire process. I feel for you and don't want to tell you it's ok to cheat, but you are certainly not the only one. You could call your surgeon's office and see if they will allow some modifications? All I can say is this is the worst part - do you best and know you aren't alone. Good Luck!

I was sleeved on September 3 and I am waking up all throughout the night. Not necessarily hungry, I just can't sleep. I have done very well with weight loss, but I just can't sleep. Strange. :)

@aloudwhisper...i seriously doubt they would allow u to use your own gas meds. My gas pains were so bad, I didnt bother to ask and just pop them in my mouth but made sure they dissolved completely before i swallowed.

Sleeved this morning, I only had one wave of nausea that subsided fairly quick. I told my son that it feels like I'm uncomfortably full, not pleasant, but tolerable. And I don't feel hungry at all. We'll see how it feels tomorrow, I start taking pills vs IV and start Clear Liquids. I'm pleased with how it went, glad people will start seeing less of me! =)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
