I too love your floor cleaner Carlene. I have to admit, I never fully realized how messy babies and small children really are, until now. I always had a dog in the house---and now I find myself with grandbabies, and no dog----and THIS generation is MESSY!!!!!

The instant Pasta maker "as seen on TV" is a joke!

We got one and the Pasta didn't cook all the way and then, it stuck to the inside of the container. We scraped it all out and cleaned it up and then we tried it a second time thinking maybe we missed a step in the directions or something, but nope, it did the exact same thing the second time, so it ended up in the garbage.

Here are some things I bought that I thought I'd never use, but that I use constantly:

1. Manual Pasta machine from Bed Bath and Beyond. It cost $20 and I use it often! You crank the dough by hand and then run it through the blades. Soooo yummy!

2. Old fashioned mortar and pestal. I use it all the time to crush pills, herbs, you name it!

3. Cuisinart. Couldn't live without it!

Here are some other things I love:

1. Balance bars. I keep them in my purse for when I get lightheaded from hunger. One will fill me up for hours!

2. Crystal Light individual powder packets. You add to a bottle of Water and viola! a non-carbonated delicious sugar free drink! I loooove these little things! They are perfect for traveling too.

3. cheese sticks. Great for a snack.< /p>

4. Bath and Body Works heel cream. I think it's called "heel of approval". It's the only thing I've found that remotely softens my feet, and I've tried alot of products.

5. Cottage cheese and fruit combo packs. Perfect for a light lunch and delicious.

6. chewable Tylenol.

Carlene, we have an espresso machine at work that cost $1,000. I use it every single day, sometimes twice a day, and so do my co-workers. If I had it at home I would use it even more. It makes coffeehouse quality lattes and we love it.

Totally OT....but I have to relate this. Ellen read a letter on her show from the mom of a 3 or 4 year old. It went something like...

My son, Jake, loves to use my Chapstick. So I showed him where I keep it, in the bathroom drawer, and told him he could use it anytime, as long as he put it right back when he was done. This arrangement worked very well for us until the day I turned the corner and saw Jake very carefully applying my Chapstick to the cat's puckerd little bottom.

Moral of this story......never share your Chapstick (or Carmex).

I am not sure if I would never need chapstick again, because damned if I'm licking my lips!!!! Or if I'd need something stronger from the scrubbing I'd have given them!!!

No, but I love my Tassimo machine, I use it everyday and it's super easy, finally an appliance that gets used! Sunnysea

I have no idea what the technical name for them is, but shower heads that have the hose vs. the ones that are attached to the wall. Whenever I'm in a hotel, I truly, truly miss the ability to move the shower head around.

Cans of compressed air. They clean the computers, the dust out little cracks, they've helped my grandmother blow out her birthday candles and (I know this to be true), if you invert them, the very frigid propellant is cold enough to kill an ant on the countertop.

Electrasol dishwashing tablets.

Oh! My washing machine and dryer! Never, EVER again will I live in an apartment or house without at least a hook-up. I despise the laundromat. My clothes always come out of them smelling worse than when they went in because all the laundomats around here allow smoking.

My dishwasher is another necessity. I really hate washing dishes. I've been known to throw out dishes and pans instead of washing them by hand.

Carlene, my daughter and her husband have that same coffee machine from Starbucks and they use it all the time. I want one now!!!
