August 18th here...yeeeeeah baby!

*doing a happy dance*

I have to do an Optifast diet for three weeks before, starting July 28th.

So doing the food funeral right now.

Ice cream is on my grocery list for today and I....don't....care.

*evil wicked grin*

Haha I'm all too familiar with the food funerals lately. Oreos, doritoes, ice cream cake, and every type of carb centered big dinners. I'm already getting sick of the goodies. By the time my pre op diet is here I think my body will like it.

I'm right there with you! I'm scheduled for August 12th and have the same pre-op diet. I've got a big tub of ice cream in the freezer and plan to go out to dinner the night before the shakes start as sort of a farewell, lol!

I am scheduled for August 1 ! My emotions about it are all over the place. I know I'm doing the right thing for me! I start my 2 week pre op liquid diet on August 17! The only thing I'm really worried about with that is having out of town guests for the weekend who look forward to my homemade bread and my cooking. Also I figure about the time they get here the headache will set in. Oh well. I'll make it thru!

We will be starting an incredible journey soon and I'm so glad to have August buddies to share this with!!!

Hey Skylarkx, I'm in the same boat. Brother is coming down to stay for a week. I'll be on day 3 of Opti when he arrives. The plan is for my Mum to keep him for a couple of days before he crashes at my place. That way I'm not likely to kill him. (or munch/gnaw on his arm while he sleeps)

Hello everyone August 5th here too!! I will be relieved when its finally done and over with my mind is filled with so many what ifs I don't want to change my mind lol I know deep down I'm doing the right thing just scared of something going wrong.Anyone else feel this way ? I have 100+ pounds to loose and want to start living and enjoying a healthy normal life.I'm tired of shopping with my best friend for cute clothes that are a size 6 and she calls herself fat ugh...i like to smack her upside her head sometimes lol while my closet is filled with dark plain ugly clothes.Although im not doing this just to look good I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 27 + years it would be nice to fit into something a little sexy again ;)

My tentative date is August 5th. The nurse said on Tuesday(July 8th) evening that she will be sending in my paper work to the insurance. I have no idea if she did yet. I did all my pre op testing (sleep study, blood work, all the doctors etc).

If anyone is interested there is a August Facebook group....https://www.facebook.com/groups/AugustGastricSleeveBuddies/

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
