So, I am finding myself eating carbs and empty calories with little to no Protein at work. I need easy to hide, go to Snacks that will help me see results on the scale. Perferably, ones that don't need to be refridgerated. I mean, it can be, but it's hard for me to get to the fridge after 4pm when I am maning the desk by my self. However, I am open to ANY and ALL suggestions!!!!!!!

Thank you!

Well, It's not the best because of the sodium in it, but Beef Jerky (or Turkey Jerky if you can find it).

My suggestion is Don't snack. I eat every 4 hours, and I don't eat between meals. I eat as few carbs as humanly possible, so my meals are almost totally meat and cheese. I could add non-starchy veggies, but I don't like them so I just stick to Protein.

The sleeve will ONLY keep us from eating too much at one time. It won't keep us from grazing, which is one sure way to stop losing and/or start re-gaining.

In addition to what others have said (e.g. nuts, Jerky, fruit), I make homemade granola (super easy...plenty of recipes online) with Splenda brown sugar and sugar free Syrup, in place of honey...very filling and good for you (yes, it has carbs, however I could care less what others will say...carbs are not bad, they are fuel for your body...just can't overindulge.).

Good luck! :)

Roasted soy nuts or roasted edamame (yummy and satisfyingly crunchy). Roasted seeweed (they sell at trader joes, 60 cals for an entire pack and satisfies the chip/crunchy craving. PB2, nuts, beef Jerky (I'm a vegetarian and don't eat jerky but seems like a good snack).

There's a great and EASY recipe for roaster garbanzo Beans on the site Theworldaccordingtoeggface. I don't even like G beans, and these rock. Protein, crunch, flavor, no refrigeration--add some extra seasoning though.

Wheat thins w/ tuna, or celery and apple slices with pb, turkey Jerky, dried salmon, Belvita Breakfast biscuts ( cookie aisle, but the chocolate flavor was awful! ), sunflower seeds, or sunflower butter ( really good ! )

Some nutrition stores have great portable Protein Snacks. I like CrunchO's - they look like cheerios but are crunchy like MunchoO's and come in sour cream & onion or BBQ (12gr protein). They come in single serve bags but you get a fair amount and are good if you crave a criunchy snack. There are all kinds of Protein Bars but Quest makes the lowest sugar ones w/a huge variety of flavors. As many have said, nuts are good but high fat - pay attention to serving size. Maybe package a single serving into a baggy so you don't end up 'grazing' on them. I like 'Perky Turkey Jerky' - all natural, low fat, low sugar, low calorie - available at Walmart and Target. A little pricy but tender, tasty, and very portable. sugar free pudding cups - the kind that don't need refrigeration are great for work. Hummus chips, Beanitos (like a tortilla chip but made w/beans), veggie slices, etc.

The list is endless. All you need to do is hit the grocery store or Walmart and read labels. Maybe a nutrition store for higher Protein, low sugar options. :-)

All good suggestions but what about drinking some Water? Getting up and going for a walk? Things that take your mind off food?

What you appear to be experiencing is head hunger, not real hunger correct?

Buy a Pak It lunch box-you put it in the freezer at night and it keeps your items cold all day with a good ice pack!

No snacking. Make everything a meal by having Protein. I don't snack on anything unless it Protein. If it has protein it is a meal!

Nuts are always a great choice.

I think it is bordeom hunger. I am sitting at a desk and when there is downtime, which there is alot of, I just feel I need to snack. Some days though, I am actually hungry, so I am looking for wide range of Snacks, that benefit! I am trying to get in the habit of drinking more and chewing gum in replace of actully eating.

Thank you everyone for all the suggestions. I rather not snack. But there are some days that I am actually hungry. I test my self by drinking Water and chewing gum to see if it's really hunger or head/boredo hunger.

P3 packs, available at the grocery store right by the lunchables. these little packs of smoked turkey cubes, cojack cheese cubes and almonds. 13g Protein, around $1.30 each. really easy and a perfect little portion. there are also the REV packs which sport some good protein and they are more like a little turkey/cheese/flatbread wrap.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
