Hello, I'm 4 days post op, new to group. (Gastric bypass patient)

Hello everyone! I'm currently beginning day 4 post op and just found this group. I am happy to meet new people and to hear any tips and suggestions that will help make this new journey more successful. I am feeling well, only took one pain pill mid day yesterday, still struggling with gas bubbles causing discomfort, other than that I feel great! Please don't hesitate to say hello and introduce yourself, (happily married though, not looking for anything "else") especially if you just had surgery also and might be able to walk this new life along with me! Have a blessed day!

Hi Kelly, I'm Gina and I am day three of Post Op and really looking forward to saying good bye to the liquid diet! I'm ready for some consistency! Hello applesauce ???? I'm Also still dealing with gas discomfort and some soreness. I'd love to keep in contact with you since our surgeries were so close together and we can walk through this journey together, even if it is virally!

Hello! I had my surgery last Wednesday and I feel great. No gas pains at all. I had to walk every hour at the hospital. Most of the pain I had from gas was concentrated up under my lungs so I had I real hard time breathing. Other than that, I have no pain or nausea. I hate the liquid diet simply because I want something with flavor. Sugar free jello just isn't cutting it. I'm not hungry at all. I have lost 8 pounds since surgery. I think that's a good start.

Hi and welcome.

Congratulations on having this surgery and making the choice to a healthier you.

I have a suggestion to pick up the flavor of your protein shakes but ask your nutritionist if it's okay with them to use. I use Torani sugar free syrups in my shakes. They come in a multitude of flavors. You can get them directly from the company which I think is the easiest way. I also use PB2 peanut butter powder or PB2 chocolate peanut butter powder. You can get this at Target or the grocery store.

For the gas pain walk as much as you can a few times a day that will help also ask your surgeon if you can use Gas X stripes that melt on your tongue. They helped me and still do for that occasional problem.

Feel good and be well.

The best to you on your journey.
