Exactly one week down and 20lbs gone (from max weight), but I am having a horrible time with drinking the protein! And I'm pushing getting in enough fluids. I'm getting very discouraged because by the end of the day, I feel like crap. Anyone have any suggestions?

@@sandymom I don't have any hard suggestions because some days I struggle with one or the other. Yesterday, it was both. However, I did try some strained Campbell's broccoli cheese Soup with fat free milk and a packet of Unjury unflavored Protein Powder. I was only able to take in about 4 ounces before I started feeling something that I guess is my new "full". I think all in all that was about 14 grams of Protein. Compared to what we're supposed to have, that's not much, but it's something different than drinking a sweet Protein Shake.< /p>

What are you feeling at the end of the day? Upset stomach? Tired or worn down?

Tfowler, thank you for your ideas! I guess I really just had a bad day yesterday. I know that I am getting better everyday. I guess I would describe how I feel at the end of the day is worn out, but I truly think it's because I don't eat enough during the day. Last night I experienced being truly hungry for the first time since surgery. I ate probably close to 3 to 4 ounces of soup and a bit later a pop cycle. I have ordered unflavored protein, so that should help, too. I think I am going to quit stressing, do the best I can, and just work my sleeve as best I can. I truly appreciate your input. Thank you very much! Have a great day!!!!

I am awaiting my Unjury unflavored now. I guess I will be adding it to everything! I have my alarm set to go off every 15 minutes. I am drinking something at that time, either Water or Protein Shake or Soup at meal times. Today I am going to start journaling all my intake and see where I land.

At the end of the day I feel FULL and tired. Yet my new wake up time has become 530 am. I have never been an early riser. Weird.

I don't like many (most) of the Protein shakes/powders out there...but 2 of my main sources are Unjury chicken soup (nice break from all the sweet, without that awful "protein"taste...and Premier Protein chocolate shake over a lot of ice. It has 30g of protein in 11oz. That is liquid gold!!!

It's been hard for me to gauge when I'm full because of only being on liquids, but I do get a gurgling feeling when I drink. Is that what full feels like? Or an I drinking too fast?

I also dont have a "full" sign yet. I stay full from all the fluids. I guess when we start puree food we will have a better understanding. I have been sticking to 3-4oz of "meal time" liquid at a time just to be sure.

@@GingerSlim I guess that's what I get when I drink warm Soups. Gurgling and the burps. But I'm with @@evanslaura79 in that I stick around 4 ounces and don't push it. I don't feel the same "full" as I used to, but after I stop, I realize I'm not hungry. I think I read somewhere that it takes the stomach and mind about 20 minutes to communicate that the stomach is full, so maybe it just takes time to learn the new signals. I think I also read somewhere on here that one person's signal was hiccups and another person's signal was a runny nose. Weird, but I've honestly been looking for those signs.

I had to go to lunch yesterday with a group from work. They don't know I had this type of surgery, so I ordered Soup while everyone else enjoyed chicken fried bacon, onion rings, fresh rolls with whipped honey butter, and other good looking foods. I will admit that it was hard to watch because I wanted to try a little bit of everything, but I kept reminding myself of my purpose, and it put things into perspective for me. Still hard, but doable. I'm going to lunch today with another group, so we'll see if it's as hard.

Yes, good wishes to @Dulce_jtrivera. She'll be on this side with us today!

@@tfowler you are a better woman than I am! I have avoided social interactions thus far. Next week will be my challenge. I have four days in Santa Monica and 5 in Ohio. All my coworkers do after meetings is eat and drink.

I had a lap band before my sleeve, and I got a runny nose, but it was my sign I had OVER eaten, and I was going to get sick. Not good :(

Anyway, stay strong as you are going out to lunch with your work people. I am going out of town this weekend, but everyone knows what's going on, so it shouldn't be too bad. Have a great day!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
