How long do you think it takes once you have met the requirements to get a surgery date?

I have gone to the 3 nutrition classes. I have received the letter from my primary care physician. I have had the psych eval, and I am having the meeting with nutrition on Thursday. I have also had my consult with the surgeon. So, if any of you have experience with this sort of thing, how long would you say it might be before I can expect surgery? I am just so afraid it won't get done during the summer while on out of school.

4-6 weeks unless your doc goes on vacation.

My surgery was scheduled about a month after I finished all the prerequisites. Insurance approval was about 6 days of nail-biting anxiety!

Do you have to complete the physical therapy appointments too? If so, you need at least one month in between each appointment.

Scheduling varies widely by practice. One surgeon I considered was able to schedule patients one week after meeting the requirements. The surgeon I chose has been scheduling two months out.

I am a lapband patient that is having issues with scar tissue. I am preparing to have it removed and I'm getting the gastric sleeve. With me, it depended on insurance carrier after those items you listed work completed completed. My insurance carrier requires 6 months off a diet and exercise plan appointment with the physicians office or nutritionist. Because I've been through that, it was a miracle, but my insurance company approved right away. My surgeon could schedule within 2 weeks after the insurance approval. And it was the same situation the first time around with my lap band.
