Anyone have gastric sleeve for gastroparesis?

Hi, I have gastroparesis and am scheduled for gastric sleeve soon...June 30th. I'm excited to hopefully "cure" this condition! I do need to lose weight as well, although not morbidly obese...I'm 5'3" and almost 190...I'd like to be 130. So the weight loss side effect for me will be very welcome!! This is a GREAT site and I've enjoyed reading..I'm learning A LOT!! Best wishes to everyone with upcoming surgeries!

Yes, that is why I chose what I did. I still have it. 86% of the people w/gastroparesis get it cleared, but 14% don't, at least from the studies I saw.

I am glad I took the chance. Gotta start somewhere!

My date is June 30th and I have gastroparesis, too! Are you taking domperidone? I'm wondering if I'll be able to stop after the surgery?

No I simply had a mild case of it except for now and then. I was on some things in the beginning but they didn't always help. Like I said, many people get relief from it and that's why I chose the surgery I did. I'm on eurythromycin now. It works better than Reglan or the other stuff ever did.

:)

My mom had gastroparesis and she had RNY for it and has done great ever since, 3 yrs out. She went from being about 225 to 130.
