Looking for a drink that tastes like Fresca

Recommended Posts

I'm having a huge craving for Fresca. Does anyone know of an appropriate substitution? I was thinking a lemon-lime drink...but I think Fresca is more of a Grapefruit flavor. Thanks!

I used to luv Fresca! I would think a splash of grapefruit in some Water, or maybe some grapefruit, a touch of lemonade, and Water?

Good luck!

nectar Protein does a Grapefruit which I mix with crystal light lemonade and it is spot on for fresca! i would guess that if you could find an off-brand of stir-in drink mixes (i don't think crystal light does grapefruit) in grapefruit and mix with lemon you would have it.

LeCroix sparkling mineral Water has a non-sugar variety of flavors.

I prefer the lemon-flavor.

At times I've added a splash of grapefruit juice to a glass of it for a little treat.

YMMV

I love Fresca. I'm going to jot down the Nectar/Crystal Light combo for future reference....

I agree 100% with mi75. Syntrax nectar Grapefruit with Crystal LIght Lemonade. A....Maz...Ing. Actually, I warm up the lemonade a little, mix in the Syntrax, strain out the few bit of lumps, then put it on ice. I bought several flavors and styles of proteinn drinks, and this one is my favorite of them all.

re: sparkling, bubbles, carbonation, etc

For about the first 3 or 4 years postOp I avoided them all. Heard lots different speculation, gas/etc. Never did track down the real deal. In any case my Band Doc didn't seem to be concerned after a certain point.

Eventually I came to learn I could drink a little; first by using a common hand-make clay pottery with normal glaze.

Don't know if this is the real deal, but a chemist buddy told me the magnesium (or SOMETHING) in the glaze acted to reduce the CO2 in solution. It seemed to work.

In any case now nearly 10 years postOp I can drink sparkling mineral Water without problems.

Just be careful with anything with actual grapefruit in it because if you haven't had it in a while and you take medications you'll have serious diarrhea!

I love Fresca and grapefruit juice! Nectar's grapefruit is AWESOME! I buy it through netrition.com! I bought the big "jug" and that is what I have for Breakfast most of the time! They also have a good peach. They are a little in the sweet side, but I mix in a little more Water than suggested and it's perfect for me.

Or you could just buy fresca and let it go flat..?

Thanks everyone for your awesome ideas. I have a sodaStream so what I've done so far is barely carbonate the Water and add both sf grapefruit and lemon/lime flavors. I will also try the syntrex plus lemonade version.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
