crazy swimsuit shopping

Recommended Posts

Okay, I want a 2 piece swimsuit - I guess a bucket list item. I tried on lots of them but didn't do too well in the womens department. They have string bikinis and they have "matronly". The more modest ones didn't come in my size - I have a size 4 butt and modest bottoms in my local stores tended to start about size 10. Some of the prettier ones (that were not string bikinis) were too big OR were ridiculously expensive... I don't think I should pay $150 for a two piece swimsuit!

So, i wound up getting one out of the junior section. I bought Jr med bottoms and XL junior top and it fits, good price at 50% off sale. Not a string bikini, but not a matronly skirt type deal either.

Anyway it continues to blow my mind that I fit in the juniors section. I remember going swimsuit shopping previously and had trouble finding suits big enough...

I still feel kinda strange wearing a two piece but since I plan to wear a coverup most of the time, it will be fine. My new boyfriend has a boat so I will feel comfortable wearing it when it is just he and I or when I go in the Water.

I guess this is a NSV - I look somewhat reasonable in a bathing suit these days!

@@CowgirlJane

i think many people here don't/won't say that they really look great

we/you/me are not used to receiving compliments, or saying nice things about how we look

jane i'm sure you look terrific, even though you say you look "reasonable"

thats like me saying i look "ok", when we all know i'm cute as a button!! :D

Congrats to both of you ladies...moments of triumph...always love to here about those. I am only 6 weeks out from surgery and 32 pounds down but I decided to bring my summer bag of dresses out to see if any fit. Well the first one I grabbed was a "zippered" dress and I thought no way. To back track my weight really affects my face and for a while I didn't quite recognize myself. So to continue...I tried on the dress and had my son zip me up and made a bee-line for my room. I felt the tears start to pour down my face and I didn't want him to see. I put on my coordinating heels and looked in the mirror. And there I was...in disbelief I fit in the dress but even more important I finally began to recognize myself again. Yes!! Hope that makes sense..,

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
