Hi all. I got my sleeve on Monday, May 12 and had an ok hospital stay (day 1 fever but otherwise ok). I'm home now, and I still can't get more than 1 shake in and nowhere near my Fluid goal, but I'm trying.

Tonight I was trying to get in another bowl of broth with Isopure in it, and I think I overstuffed myself and now I'm worried that I made myself leak! Can I do that? I had some discomfort, and then a brief little pang of pain in my sleeve, but it went away after I took gas-x strips. But I'm still nervous. Help please??

Thank you! Getting rid of the gas really helped. Time to back off on the Protein for a few days I guess! This is hard.

Hi! I felt the same kind of paranoia as you. I was sleeved on 4/25/14 & tried to force my Fluid intake. Don't do it. Be kind to yourself. During my first week, my goal was to drink a 20 ounce bottle of Water everyday & at least half of my Protein shake (8 once bottle) . Now at almost 3 weeks post op, I'm drinking 2 20 ounce bottles a day & a full 8 ounce shake.... Bc that's all I can do.

I also remember feeling like I was going to pop after a bowl of broth... Lol, sounds to me like you are right on track. ❤️❤️

My surgery was on May 14th. I'm 5 days out and haven't started Protein yet. I am getting 32 oz of Water and 16 oz of Vitamin water in per day now. Still on broth and yogurt and Jello. Just take a few drinks of your protein, and take it slow. Good luck

Get yourself some Isopure, you'll get protein and Fluid intake at the same time. Very easy to sip on ice. Try GNC.

I was also sleeved on May 14th. I took some colace early this morning because I also haven't had a BM since the day before surgery.

I concur. I think many of the post op problems people have in the first week or two are because of being sedentary. Within the first few hours of surgery I was doing laps around the hospital floor. And when I got home the next day I was up and walking around the house every hour or 2.

In the hospital I got a few other people motivated who had their surgery the same time. They remembered seeing me in the pre surgical suite and when they saw me up and walking around the hospital that evening, they got up and walked with me.

At 5 days I was walking around the block a few times a day and not once did I have any gas problems.

  • Hi im new here and I was sleeved on May 12 as well. I am so shocked at the stories I am reading. It concerns me that something is wrong with my sleeve. First of all, day one in the hospital I was NEVER nauseous or did I vomit. I have never had that issue. Secondly, I have been able to drink all 64 ozs of my Water from day one. So is this normal? IS there anyone out there with the same issue? I go back to dr thurs and I have a host of questions beginning with why am I not having swallowing or eating issues.

@@sandisleeve my faith tells me that I have been blessed and Yahweh has had me covered this whole time. But I just wonder if something went wrong at the surgery day or what? I know I had the surgery as my palette has changed and I am NOT hungry ever. But it just seems that I am the odd one out not having experienced any of these issues. Thanks! Im new to this forum so I am lost.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
