Only my big incision (where they took my stomach out) hurt intermittantly for about a month. It would be fine most of the day, but every once in a while it would give me a reminder that there were tools moving all around inside my belly. At one month the doctor let go back to strength training with a limit of five pound weights. I was allowed to shower after the third day with the tapes exposed. They finally peeled off around week three. It took the scabs a while longer to finish up.

Lena, my incisions were glued and then taped. I was allowed to shower but not allowed to soak in a tub. I was told the tape would peel off in a couple of weeks. Which it did. I had scabs much longer than that though.

I had 7 but also had hiatal hernia repair. My Doctor used staples in me and yes they itched and hurt for a few weeks. I actually went back to work 9 days after surgery because we were short handed and took a blow to the stomach from a Water heater and one incision opened up. All is well now and I'm sure it will get better for you in a few weeks. Good luck.

I only have one incision. My dr calls it the "bikini cut". My dr. went in through my belly button. He sewed me together on the inside and then glued on the outside. The glue fell off yesterday I have slight soreness but that's it.

I had 7. 4 for the surgery, 1 for a drain port, then 2 pinholes for my OnQue nerve block. Add these to two previous laparoscopic surgeries, and my tummy looks like I took a hit from a shotgun.

Actually only the main one where my stomach was removed has been painful at all. It tells me when I overdo. Prior surgery scars are so tiny and light, I really have to look for them.

I am sooooo glad they went in my previous 5 incisions from lapband so instead of having 10 i just have 5 and they are all barely visible exceot the one i had the lapband port at

Is anyone having any problem with their incisions? Mine are sore like I did a million sit ups and a little itchy. Also wondering if anyone had showered with the tape still on or do you take the tape off first? I've heard of doing both but just wanted some opinions

Mine are sore but I was given a perscription cream to rub around them (I have 5). This cream even deadens my finger when I apply it! I have showered, twice, (surgery May 1). My incisions are glued and I was told it was ok to shower.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
