Thanks for the responses. I've decided that I am not going to answer those questions anymore, other than to say that I am going for a healthy weight. Y'all are much smarter than I to not butt your heads against that wall like I have! LOL

Wow, Grace! Your ticker just FLOORED me, too! How long did it take you to get to goal and what was your secret? You are amazing!

Grace--CONGRATS--CONGRATS---CONGRATS

I am 5'5" and I carry my weight well. I weigh much more than what I look like. Currently I'm in a size 16W and people are telling me that's enough--because they have seen where I have come from.

Because I carry my weight well--I have decided not to be concerned with a "goal weight"--the numbers. HAHAHAHA!!! (I'm trying to convience myself anyway!!!)---I really want to be a size 10/12. Since I've never been a size 10 or 12, I don't know what the numbers are. I've decided to judge enough weight loss by the size of my clothes.

Wow grace you really kicked butt and got it done. I don’t really look at the tickers all that much but everyone was commenting about yours and I had to check it out. Great job! Once I got close to my goal I really fell off track and I am sure I have packed some pounds back on. I don’t know how much because I only weight my self at my doc’s office. I have an appointment on the 18th and I am sure my ticker is going to be moving, just in the wrong direction.

From this point on I am going to get back on track and get my ticker looking like Grace's.

BIGBABY - I can relate...people are floored when I tell them my weight. I have always carried my weight well, even at my highest. My height helps at 5'10" or a little more. I'm pretty sure my final determining factor will be clothing size, also. I was telling hubby tonight that INTELLECTUALLY I want to go by inches lost (equals clothing size), but that EMOTIONALLY I still want that number 145 on the scale. If I can get to a comfortable size 8, I will be ready to maintain. I'm currently in a 12, but getting pretty darn baggy, so will be getting 10's very soon. Those 10's will be the first ones I've worn since I was in seventh grade in 1979!

(And to think that in the pic below at the Grand Canyon last November '07 I was wearing 16's!)

How about some new pics to motivate us Stef? You must be looking really good! I got to thinking that my dd will be 15 tomorrow, and I was this weight when I got pregnant with her, so it's been 15 years since I was this weight. If I get to goal weight, it will be first time since I was 16, almost 30 years! wow!

That's great, O2B! Doesn't it feel great?!?!?

I do need to take new pics. Hubby is supposed to go cycling with me and my mom tomorrow, so maybe I can get a few on my bike! I should have taken some tonight when we went out to dinner...I was particularly "blingy" this evening. :( LOL

Well, it doesn't feel great yet. Size 18's are still tight, so I'm not a happy camper. I'll get there eventually though. I'm a turtle!

It's so cool that your mom cycles with you.

I can't wait to be an 18! Lol! I remember shopping with my mom last Spring and she is a size 6/8 and so the biggest size in the department that she was shopping in was a 16/18 and I remember just WANTING to be able to wear that size so I could shop there. It's silly, but I know that I'll be momentarily pleased with my weight when I get there. Haha. As it is, 24's are still snug on me.

Hi everyone! I usually just lurk around all the sites without logging in and posting comments. I just wanted to say ~ That I am truly motivated by all of you.

Steph ~ I look forward to reading all you responses on supplements. After searching for the past month or so for those "Supreme Protein" bars. I finally for a box. Of course they don't sell them around my town (not even 7-11), but I found them at The Vitamin Shoppe (4 1/2 hours away). I can get them online, but I wanted to try them first.

Keep up the good work! I'm struggling right now, but trying to get back on the bandwagon. I think I just need a little fill (going Thursday).

Take Care,

Take Care,

Hey, Karla! I always remember you because of your "Deep down I'm a size 6" quote...I love that! I'm glad you found the Supreme Protein bars...have you had a chance to try them yet? (I hope you got the "Carb Conscious" ones?) Good luck with your next fill! You're doing great, and I see you are in ONE-derland now! Congrats!

Hey, Karla and everybody...I found another good item...it's called PRO chocolate smoothie. It is single serve in a can, 16 oz., 50 grams of protein, 7 carbs (5 net), only 240 calories, 2 sugars, 1.5 grams fat, 50 sodium, 400 potassium. This thing is just about PERFECT! It does have sucralose in it, so it is rather sweet when you first taste it, but I got used to it quickly and no aftertaste. Just tastes like yummy thick chocolate milk. They do have vanilla, too. I got it at The Vitamin Shoppe for $2.99, so that is W-A-Y better than going to Smoothie King for $6.47 a pop for my smoothie all the time! (Smoothie King is better, but this is a real good one to swap out and not spend so much there!)

Stef---I echo Karla--you are the greatest at giving vital info. Here's my questions: How much Protein can the body absorb at one time. I've heard various amounts. Wondering if you drink the entire shake at one time (since it has 50g of protein).

I'm going to look into biotin--for my hair. I think that I read about it on another thread.

Karla--glad to see you back!!!! Keep posting--even if it's just to say hi...Like you, I look at LBT several times a day--just to read and see what my "friends" are talking about. Congrats on 1derland

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
