Ugh! 2week liquid diet! How did you do?

I'm on day 5 of a 2 week clear liquid diet, I'm allergic to aspartame so I have to make pop sickles with Splenda and kool-aid I cant do jello due to also having allergies to high volumes of gelatin, I fell off the wagon twice already within these past 5 days. I'm limited on the go to items that would normally make this diet tolerable, how did you guys do? Did it affect the outcome of your surgery?

Are you allowed Protein drinks? My pre-op diet included them. I used the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury products- 1 for Breakfast, the Soup for lunch, 1 for an afternoon snack and another for dinner. Other than being boring I wasn't starving with the high protein intake. The premier Protein Drinks from costco are also really good. Below are the ingredients for the Unjury products. Are you allergic to any of them?

Ingredients: whey Protein Isolate, Fructose, Cocoa powder (Alkali Processed), Natural Flavors, Soy Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Sea Salt, Acesulfame Potassium, Sucralose, Potassium Chloride.

I'm on day 8 now. The first few days were tough. Now it is just boring. I am getting a little sick of the Protein shakes, but I try to mix them up a little. I would like something to eat that is not sweet. Other than that, getting close to the prize. Hang in there. Time will go by and you'll be happy you did it.

No protein drinks allowed for me, I have slipped a couple of times but I did aim for low carb foods. I'm glad to be at a point where my stomach will not hold much. This will help. Lol

This is the hardest part of the whole process I think. I did a week of clear liquids plus 4 shakes a day and it got much easier as time went on. Day 2 fell on valentines day and I did have a couple cookies lol. It didn't affect my surgery though... my doctor said my liver looked great. :)

Today was day 8 of my pre-op liquid diet and I had my pre-op testing today. Blood work, x-rays, EKG and urine. When they weighed me I lost 8 pounds. Six more days to go on this and then surgery. Our days will be here before you know it. We got this!

It is hard but so worth it, I've been overweight my entire 38 years on this earth and I can honestly say that I've never looked forward to being restricted on foods, come on sleeve day!!!! Lol. This indeed will get better.
