BodyBugg Convert

Recommended Posts

Thanks to rereading some of Puddin's posts, I decided to get finally get a BodyBugg. After not losing an ounce for over a month, I've lost 2 pounds in the five days that I've had it.

If you're competitive (even with yourself) this gadget is great! I've had the device for five days. Since getting it, I've been in the gym every morning and have logged every morsel of food before eating it. It is incredibly motivating and fun to try to hit your "deficit" number for the day.

I bought the body bugg last year. I have decided to get it going tomorrow. I just have to get my membership up and running. It is a great program which takes out all the guesswork.

I've seen these on sale on Ebay, but if you can't get it for less than $180, I wouldn't bother. AT that point you are better off buying new because if I understand this correctly they are worthless without the membership, isn't that right?

Yes, but the online service is only about $15 per month.

That's not bad! For some reason I thought it was $199 for 3 months ?? So if I were to buy a used one and it was programmed to someone elses body, I could simply sign up for the $15 monthly rate and change the programming with the $15 monthly plan - I wouldn't have to pay a huge start up fee or anything? Wow, if that's so, I'm going to go get one! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I thought the fee was $199 as well.... I think on the website it says the bugg is like $399 or $199 for the program only.. maybe I'm wrong though. You might want to just double check the website (www.bodybugg.com) before you buy from Ebay.

I emailed the body bugg customer service that I had a used body bugg that I wanted to reprogram to my body and to start using and wanted to know how much it would cost to get a body bugg up and running and this was their reply:

At this time you must purchase the $199 web only package in order to make use of a pre-owned armband. This includes 2 coaching sessions in which you learn how to use the software and create your program as well as the initial 3-month subscription. After the first 3 months, you can renew your subscription for $15 per month (or there are other renewal options as well).

It’s okay to use a pre-owned armband, but you will want to perform a firmware upgrade before you begin using it. This is the link you need for that:

http://www.bodybugg.com/firmware.php

If you have any other questions please let us know. Thanks!

christie j. renick, mfa

the bodybugg™ team

800.656.2739 ext 281

info@bodybugg.com

So basically when you purchase a new one for $399, the body bug itself is only $200 and the other $199 is for the initial 3 months and then it reverts to only $15 a month. Soooo if you do buy a used one, it is NOT smart to pay more than $200 for it..in fact I (being thrifty) would refuse to buy a used one for more than $180 (then use the extra $20 I saved to go out and buy a new pair of workout pants.)

I soo want to get one (I asked for one for mother's day)... but I'm kind of a cheapskate... that $199 for 3 months is what's 'bugg'ing me (hehehe). I am, however, completely motivated by puddin's success.. argghh. What to do, what to do???

Hey, can anyone tell me how to quote in a reply?? I never learned that.

Thanks

I've been dying for a body bugg too and just wanted to mention when i checked on ebay - a guy selling a NEW never used one made it sound like if you get a used one it could be programmed for someone else and couldn't be changed - obviously it couldn't be used (say a guy bought it and programmed it for his body weight etc. ) then a woman bought it with different stats....

so be careful

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to. And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed. I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
