Well, I'm 11 mos. out from my revision surgery and I can say it has been totally worth it!!!! I'm 15lbs away from my personal goal and 23lbs from my 100% weight off (Dr. Goal). It's said that sleeves can lose 50-70%of total weight needed to lose and I'm already there. I truly think it's about following the plan and embracing the change. Yes, at times the weight coming off has been slow (especially since month 6) but I'm still dropping. I'm happy it's been slow because my skin has toned up better than this 46 y/o gal expected. :-) best of luck to us all!!!

I pray I have as much success! Congratulations!

I had revision 1/28 and I'm down 55. I think it makes a difference where your starting weight is with the revision. I started at 287.

I currently have a band and am considering the sleeve. Starting weight 260, band was put in oct 2012. Today (may 2014) I'm around 210. It fluctuates 5-8lbs. I've been stuck at this weight for A YEAR. I'm curious of everyone's starting weight and loss with their revisions.

My starting weight with the revision was 191 and I'm down to 170. I had my revision on Jan13 2014 so its only been 4months. I had about a 3 month stall and have just lost 10lbs in the last month. Slow and steady for me!

I'm assuming from your profile that you haven't had WLS yet and that you're planning on VSG. Virgin sleeves are known to be less prone to complications than revision sleeves, so that's a positive. Most band to sleeve revisions are as effective as virgin sleeves, but this is really dependent on how much weight was lost with the first surgery. Many revisions are on people who've lost a good deal of weight already and experience a slip or other complication necessitating removal. You wouldn't expect them to lose as much as someone who is revised at a higher weight, would you? That's why you'll see stats like that.

Since the reoperation/removal % is in the 50% range, if I had to chose today! I would choose a sleeve. Since I have extensive damage, I cannot revise.

Very interesting information, but sorry about the damage you have suffered!

Had band surgery in October 2005 and lost 100 pounds and then started having issues with slipping and it being too tight. Gained 90 pounds and had revision to sleeve in November 2013 and am down 87 pounds.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
