Surgery in June and flying to Hawaii in late August...crazy?

Im waiting for ins approval and hoping for early June surgery and then going on vacation 8 -10 weeks later. Im hoping it will be relaxing mixed with quality exercise snorkeling and walking.

For those who have gotten through the first few months, any tips on vacation planning and survival?

I had surgery Oct 4 and then went to HA for Christmas. No issues whatsoever. I was able to do swimming and snorkeling and hiking just fine. I would say no extreme exercise activities but regular stuff was fine. I think I actually lost more weight during the trip due to more physical activity than my desk job. It was still harder to eat so just make sure you have Snacks and Water when you go about. Good luck!

no. you will be fine in 3-5 days.

Snorkeling may be tight. No bathes or swimming until scars are completely healed over. That was about 5 weeks for me, I believe.

Glad to hear. I just had surgery yesterday and am flying to Cali in June. I was nervous at what I'll be eating.

Amy suggestions on good/snacks to pack? I'm sure I won't be eating whatever I'd like at that point.

Thanks, if I can get surgery scheduled soon, im sure I'll be fine, I just need to plan for the flight. Plenty of water, protein mix and I'll pack my own snacks. Once there, I can grill fish and eat same as here since we'll be in a condo where I can stock my own food.
