Anyone from Bristol or Essex in UK?

Hi all, I had my sleeve on 1st April 2014 so a couple of weeks ago. I live in Bristol and had my sleeve op there but spend a lot of time in Essex as that's where I grew up & my family still live there.

Anyway I'm looking for a support group and found one in Bath not far from Bristol but it's only every 2-3 months. Their next support groups not until mid May which is disappointing. I was hoping to find some others if anyone knows of any? It would also be nice to know if anyone else locally uses this forum?

I'm struggling a little with feeling disappointed that although I lost weight the scales seem to be staying the same. I didn't expect it to stop or slow down so soon after wls! I'm also finding I feel quite low and head hungers annoying me as I'm not hungry but am really really missing food.

Anyone else feeling the same? Or felt the same in the past?

I am OK with the shakes, I did Lighter Life and Exante before, and knowing that it is a must will see me through. Eating puree'd food is a bit minging though, so I will need to talk with the dietician about whether I can just live on Heinz tomato Soup and Yogurts haha

I am really nervous though. Scared it wont work, scared it will work so well that eating will be something I dread. Crazy eh

ChrisredJeep normal to be nervous but I'm sure it will be fine. I'm 9 months down the line and can't remember much about the first few weeks. Like excitedbutnervous I had old stocks of LighterLife and Exante and used those. You can also add Protein powder to ordinary smooth veggie Soups if you want to up your protein intake. I had yoghurts and puréed fruit after 3 weeks I think, then moved on to things like hummus, scrambled egg, etc although that's a bit harder to digest.

Excitedbutnervous I eat out frequently - I don't asK for child's meals, I just have normal food and stop eating when I've had enough which means I often leave quite a bit on the plate. Despite the recommendations not to drink and eat at the same time I do sometimes (only still non-alcoholic drinks or tea or coffee) and it doesn't seem to give me any problems.

Thank heavens in the UK we're allowed to eat whole eggs and have coffee - I don't know how I would have managed otherwise as brunch is my favourite meal!

Anyway, good luck to you both.

Thank you so much for this feedback. I am not asking for a magic wand in the Sleeve Surgery, but I just wanted to know when I came out the otherside that life around food will still be enjoyable. This has made my day.

I have also just noticed our Stats are similar. I am also 5'10 and have around 120lbs to lose. I shall be very interested in following your progress. As I am new to the site, is there somewhere you have tracked your journey?

I just used the My Tickers option to record current Weight/BMI. I have noticed that some people have a fuller record on their status but I don't know how they did it.
