I am day 12 postop and this was my first day back at work. First thing this morning I had 2 gummy vitamins(mistake #1) then bout 9 I had a premier protein shake(mistake #2) then I tried sipping water(mistake #3) It took me awhile to get the shake down which was unusual. I felt miserable full and I wouldn't go away! After awhile I started on a 20 oz bottle of water...felt like the water was sitting in my chest, I felt like I needed to burp but couldn't. Called nurse she said tht I prob had the shake too soon and was tight. Didn't kno you could be tight with an empty band but she said yes the band may have a lil fluid left from surgery. It took me till bout 2:30 to finish tht water. We just came off of spring break and I've slept in everyday. So I never started my liquids till 11 or so. Her solution was to have something warm when I got home and to try some gas x strips, to do vitamin later in day or at night and not to have breakfast till 10:30-11 to give my band time to loosen up. Came home made me some protein hot choc and my my my!!!! The burps began and they were GREAT!! I'll try again tomorrow, learning this band will be a process!!
