Sorry for my late response. I'm waiting now for my EGD appointment to be set and sometime today I'm supposed to get all the pre-surgery requriements emailed to me, but I do know there is a 2 week diet I have to to on which I'm told is basically a Protein Shake for Breakfast and lunch and a Lean Cuisine for dinner. Not sure yet if I can have any fruit or veggies throughtout the day yet, but I will let you know! Did you get your info yet? For me, May 13th can't get here soon enough. I'm so ready!!!!

Hello future sleevers! I finally got my date today - May 13th! I just have to have an upper GI in the next couple weeks which I'm dreading, but it will be worth it! All those prior to May 13th, keep me posted on your progress and let me know how you all are doing! Best of luck!!

I'm May 13th too! I've already had my upper gi. All I have left is my pre-op appt. and meet with my surgeon again, and then my nurse-teach class. Do you have to do a 2 week pre op diet?

Hi. I don't get any real food on my pre op diet except a couple servings of fruit and some non starchy veg. My appts are on the 23 and 30, so I don't know any more than I did. I'm ready to be on the losers bench!

Mine is on the 13th and I'm superstitious, but not enough to change the date. :) My birthday is on the 28th so getting sleeved will be the best birthday present ever.

My date is on your birthday! May 28th :D

I can't believe I got bronchitis and my right lung has infection. My doctor put me on a strong antibiotic and steroid. Hopefully I'll feel better before pre-op appt. on April 28.

My surgery is scheduled for May 5th! Cinco de mayo in the hospital instead of at the Mexican restaurant. Still sounds like a good trade. Getting so excited! :)

How is everyone preparing? Have you told your friends, family or coworkers. I have told very few people because I don't want anyone giving me added anxiety or reasons not to so it. The people I have told are supportive and that's enough for me.

You guys?

I am also finding it difficult to let people know about my surgery. My surgery date is May 3 and I havent told anyone except my hubby and my mom. Granted I know eventually everyone will find out because my mother couldn't keep her mouth shut even if her life depended on it (lol) but just dont want to deal with all of the judgmental criticism until the surgery is over and done with. In the past when I have mentioned vsg to friends and family their reply is always the same "just work out and watch what you eat", which I find hilarious because I have been doing that for years. Loose gain loose gain ect... all the while being miserable. Either I was miserable because I felt like I was starving or I was miserable because I was eating

and felt guilty over it. I cant wait to have this done!! I am so excited and I really cant deal with anyone stealing my joy, so Im not telling anyone. (yet)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
