My surgery is tomorrow...I packed my pillow, slippers, ipad, phone charger, chapstick, face cleansing clothes, face cream, dry Shampoo since you can't shower, gas x, tooth brush/tooth paste, bringing loose pajama pants to walk around in the halls. don't need a top cause I will be stuck in the gown due to the iv.

For when I come home I will be stuck on clear liquids so crystal light, Jello, Isopure clear Protein drink, broth, and that's about it!

It depends on how long you will be there. I didn't have to spend the night. Even with that being said this is what I needed the first 24 hours. A bed, lots of pillows to prop up with and gas x strips. I couldn't stay awake long enough to be concerned with my iPad or phone.

Don't forget your Teddy Bear. If you don't need it for hugs and tears, you can use it to prop up your IV arm, hold your phone on the bed, or as a brace for your belly when you cough or sneeze. Some hospitals even provide a Bari-Buddy bear with stiff back. My hospital does not, so I bought one to take anyway.......so glad I did. If you don't have a teddy bear, a solid small pillow will serve the same purpose. Chapstick was my best non-human friend in the hospital.

I just was sleeved on March 21st. There is not much that you will need. I packed my toothbrush, deodorant, toothpaste, phone, slippers, socks, gas-x, pajamas, and my I-Pad. I even brought my favorite Bath and BodyWorks lotion.

I was sleeved last week and used nothing of the stuff I brought. Either I wasn't up to it or it was provided by the hospital. I wore the same loose fitting clothes home. Oh, I did have a pillow in the car for the ride home. If you're going to Mexico I'm sure things are different.

Much luck to you

I agree with Laughing Cat. I took music to listen to - did not use it.......books to read - did not read them.......puzzle books - did not do them. I mostly slept.

I wore home the clothes I went in. I took gasx, chapstick, extra undies, slippers, toothbrush and kindle. I used the toothbrush, gasx and chapstick.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
