I bought some cream of shrimp Soup and instant cheese grits. Egg poachers, 1/2 cup storage bowls, frozen fruit, chia seeds, more soup, sugar free Hawaiian punch packets, more Premier Protein shakes, instant oatmeal and mashed potatoes. I shouldn't need anything for at least four months. Lol

Also, this lady that I work with told me to buy Papaya enzyme. She said if she takes too big a bite and/or the food doesn't sit well, the chewable papaya enzyme helps digest it.

I will work on that stuff when I get to soft foods. My post op is much more strict. I'm Clear Liquids for 2 weeks. But I will look into that papaya enzyme. Where do you get that from?

April 21st!!!!! I'm joining this thread on the tail end, Ladies, but glad to find you all.

I am 43 - I wish that I would have had this done when I was in my early 30's. Being almost 6' tall, I have always been a large person, but could hide an awful lot of weight on such a big frame. I was 230 when I became pregnant and 300 when I had my daughter. I haven't left the 300's since. At the height, 360# and I was having knee surgeries. Got myself back down to 315 by doing south beach for 2 years, but I am so tired of fighting to get under 200. This is my 12 day on pre-op diet and I am a cranky, impatient woman. Ready to get this rolling, ready for the changes I need to make even if it means I'm heading down a rough few months. I let myself stay fat for wwaaaayyy to long, so those of you in your 20's making this happen, good for you especially. No looking back!

Oh, and just to chime in on the support issue? Let me tell you I am fortunate to have a husband & daughter cheering me on and both my older sisters. But when I told my parents, I should be embarrased to even tell anyone - but they said "Do you really think this is going to change anything?" And when I came home from the store, they had left but my mom had left me a homemade pecan pie on the counter. If ever a pie could say something ugly, it was that one. (I didn't eat it  )

Perhaps I'm not the one who needs counseling, right?

Seattle slew Welcome! I'm 41 so I understand how you feel. Better late than never. I had a child this time last year and my weight never left. Packed on more actually. Even if your parents may not have your back at least your hubby and kids do. My hubby is my biggest cheerleader. He even did the pre op with so I wouldn't be by myself. He caved yesterday. Lol. I don't blame him. My mom is very supportive and so is my aunt. But other than a few friends that's all that knows and I am fine with that. We are here to support each other.

The doctor gave us a packet of everything we should and shouldn't have. No meds after midnite

Yep. I can have Tylenol but this Atkins Cafe' Caramel shake must have just enough caffeine in it. My headache is easing up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
