Had my pre-op appointment today and my surgeon was VERY impressed!!! i've lost 14 lbs since January and he said that I did very well. There was no greater feeling than the excitement knowing that I'm one step away. He said that my BMI also went down 2 points, so this is great news!!! I told him that I felt that I could have done better, and that I did cheat a little on my birthday, but that I tried my hardest throughout these 2 weeks. He smiled and told me that no one is perfect, but this is an example of what life will be like. It is ok to mess up every now and then, but we need to consciously watch what we are eating. He gave me a big high-five and told me to get rest because he will be seeing me bright and early Friday morning! Surgery is scheduled for 7:30 AM!!!

I had such a hard time today. I had to bring dessert to the lab meeting today and had to serve it as well. It is so hard to have to buy delicious Desserts and drinks that you cannot eat. And all my lab mates loved the Cookies I got, so I guess this is what hell could be like... LOL... 5 more days to go!!!

PS. and I did not cheat and I am so proud of me... ^_^

Yayyyy!!! Congrats!!!

@@changedchristy,

Did you had to do a liquid diet before the band, and if so, how was your breath then?

I am in a liquid diet (and pre-op) and I noticed that my mouth tastes a bit funny. I have no one to complain about my breath, but I think that the Protein shakes make my mouth taste funny.

My doctor didn't make me do a complete liquid diet before surgery. I did a shake for breakfast one for lunch and a frozen Adkins or weight watchers meal at night as my pre op diet. We didn't notice my breath during pre op but I agree there's a funny taste after the shakes and a lot if dry mouth.

So I go in for surgery in the morning! I want nervous until right now. I'm a lil nauseous from my nerves. But I'm excited for tomorrow!

Preop was a struggle.. cheated here and the but all will go smooth I'm sure! Wish me luck :)

Good luck! All the people at NYU surgery were awesome!

Hey im 2 days poat but the pain killer liquid vicoden isn't helping at all so I called my surgeon and he said to add liquid motrin which helps only a lil.

I'm not hungry at all which is not common for me lol.. Getting in 1000 mls of liquid (two 16.9 fl oz bottles) and 2 servings of Protein shakes a day is more enough for now. I think the gas is what's causing most the pain but today is worse when the gas is passing by or through the band... Sharp pain when that happens. Im taking gas x and walking as much as I can.

It seems ppl say the first 2 days are the worst of it. I'm managing and im extremely excited for this life style change!

Im wondering if anyone else feels their band or port afer surgery. Not sure where my port is but im thinking is on my left because it's not near an incision and sore.

So, I had my surgery on Monday and I did not had much problems. I did had a lot of gas in my gut, but the worst part was when I drank too much tea. I slept a lot though.

I also walked a lot. so, I guess you should try to be as active. The worst part was sitting down. I fell more comfortable either standing up or nearly laying down in a sofa. I am "back to work" I guess, but just as long as I can handle.

You are right, I am not hungry anymore and feel full very easy. I am drinking a lot of Soup though (FYI tomato soup with some Parmesan cheese and oregano taste like cheese pizza, LOL)

Good luck post op!
