Terrible Dieter's

Here's my question. If you were a terrible dieter prior to the sleeve surgery, How are you doing with your sleeve? What's your prgress? Do you follow your nuts diet or do you eat in moderation?

Here's my question. If you were a terrible dieter prior to the sleeve surgery, How are you doing with your sleeve? What's your prgress? Do you follow your nuts diet or do you eat in moderation?

Personally I was a GREAT dieter! I've been on a million diets all of them lasting 2 weeks to a few months. Hundreds of pounds lost and regained over and over again. I'm so thrilled not to have to diet anymore. Being sleeved is absolutely nothing like dieting. On a diet, I'm starving all the time, now I have to force myself to eat. I'm 5'5" tall, HW 250lbs CW 178.4, sleeved 10/21- 5 months. Getting sleeved is what got me away from dieting.

I was once a terrible yo-yo dieter and I've done almost everything in the book. When I got sleeved, I started this journey with a mindstate that this is not just a diet but a lifestyle change. I think getting sleeved was the biggest incentive because I didn't want to start this journey and bring old habits with me which is why it took me a long time to finally go through with the surgery. I follow my nutritionist's plan and once in a while I'll treat myself to something but make up for it by spending an extra 20-30 mintues at the gym but I do not beat myself up for it, AT ALL! No regrets!

Another thing I do different now is that I have fun when I'm cooking. I used to always stick to salads and the idea of having that for the rest of my life always made me fall off track. Salads are wonderful but I like variety and I don't get bored now because I'm always trying new things and making healther alternatives to foods that I love. As ironic as it sounds, I have a better appreciation for food now than I ever did before lol.

I agree..not a diet..but a way of life ...to eat the rest of your life.. Granted we have to tweak our calorie amounts as we get closer to goal. I started at 400-500 and now at 850 per day ..in taking 80 grams of Protein.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
