Two days home and my family came down with the flu. So I am downstairs by myself as I can not get sick. This sucks. I was doing so well in the hospital and now this.

Im also 3 days since sleeved, so far so good. Been up walking since being in the recovery room. No stomach pain or gas & im able to sleep on both of my sides.

Sipping Protein & Water.

We got this woohoo.

Good job!! I've been walking and sipping, just bought my first Protein shake today, pretty tasty.

Getting used to not eating at lunch and dinner time is hard. I know this procedure is just as much mental as physical but I got to tell you it is hard. I feel like I am forgetting to do something. Plus this liquid stage is not fun. I am still very hopeful for the future. My starting weight was 303 surgery was 287 and I am at 280 today so that 23 pounds in less than three weeks. I can t wait until this life style becomes more normal. It seems that my days prior to this surgery were figuring out what I was going to eat next. I have a lot of time on my hands..

I know what you mean joe. Sometimes I eat because I'm bored. Ive been thinking if it would be hard to watch the family eat and I cant. -take out at least twice a week. I think I can resist the food on my own but I had to tell them to stop offering me food. My struggle now at 8 days Pre-Op is giving up my nightly bowl of popcorn. Lol... that was a ritual fof me. But I know this is just 1 stage in the procedure and a few weeks out we will be eating our regular meals but making bettef choices on what those meals are....

Last night my sister and nieces came to visit and watch movies. They brought lasagna and garlic bread. I love garlic bread. It was hard to not grab a plate and slice of bread but I fought it off. last night I was 4 days post op.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
