Slim is In AS Fat Stigma Goes Global!

Recommended Posts

Saw this article this morning. Hate, hate, hate the way everyone who is overweight is put into one slot. It is acceptable to verbally harm those who struggle with this issue.

Fat Shaming does not work as the article points out....They talk about it like oh well I think I will butter my slice of bread now....no emotion, no feeling and absolutely no outrage.....The dawn of a new order it seems with obesity as the target......It just disgusts me!

Where in the He double hockey sticks do people think they have the right to make any sort of judgement about anything another human is suffering with...

I have never understood how the outside of a person could make people decide that you are not worth anything and decide that those who are over weight are lazy or any other comment.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

painful... and you know what the other impact of this is? people who are a little overweight get obese by not accepting their natural body size and doing yo-yo to try to get to some idealized size.

I was never a small person... even now at goal, I sometimes feel fat compared to naturally slender people. I am lucky that I have a good support network of people around me who make me believe and truly feel that I am "just right for me". (My example, on a recent vacation destination I was surrounded by unbelievably thin women and it is easy to get caught up in that comparison cycle)

Basing your ideals on runway models and movie stars is just cruel. I do think "healthy thin" is really a good thing but it doesn't mean we should despise the obese or expect everyone to look the same. Very sad.

I'll just walk around real life and have someone following me with an airbrush and cutting my crotch off to improve my "thigh gap" a la Target. Also maybe I could just smooooooth my arms out into freakishly long spider-monkey claw arms that's be super.

I have always been told that I am a big girl...i really hate that...but it is true. I am large framed and want to be a size 8 and weigh 135 lbs. But I think I might be dead before I get there.

Sometimes we are never satisfied. And when I talk about it to my family they raise their eyebrows at me and say " are you nuts! "

Ii really need to see myself for who I am a body size that would be right for me...That is what I am aiming for......

Thank you for the reminder!

My daughter works with all kinds of people who have gone way beyond the normal stage and are dying from it.....One can be as bad as the other....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
