June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Recommended Posts

Mmmmmmmm.. Retried Beans, and other foods like cottage cheese, applesauce and yogurt --- When is this ok to introduce in my diet. My surgery was Tuesday. I am working with only Water, broth, Popsicles and Jello and Protein Drinks at the moment. I would like to progress to the next level but do not want to do it too soon and jeopardize my sleeve.

I get to move to soft foods tomorrow. Was able to add Protein Shake today once I got home from the hospital. Can't wait to add a change to my diet.

I love the mantras. Thanks for the encouragement.

patrick how u feeling .yesterday surgery today I'm home everything went smoothly I think lol pretty sore tho
I'm feeling a little better thanks. I've been giving it my best to get the fluids down. I think I've been close today. Was able to about 40g of Protein in. Still have the bloated feeling. Walking and sipping away. Looking for the fast forward button to take me ahead. Lol.

I'm glad things are going smooth for you. The soreness seems to be getting better with every passing hour.

Jut figured out the hard way that Premier Protein shakes have milk. :(

Pure Protein do not cause lactose intolerant problems.

I didn't think to check the premier ones before drinking one.

Lesson learned. :)

Every dr is different. I have to go to a class to move to next phase. Post op is 2 weeks Protein Shakes only, depending on your surgery date, then soft foods, not puréed

My post op class was 7 days after surgery and phase 1, soft foods is 15 days after my surgery.

I'm on day 4 post op. I have to admit the first couple of days were pretty miserable. Things seem to be improving as I find what works for me in getting my required Protein and Fluid intake. It seems this morning that I'm able to drink a bit more frequently using sips without a major pain. Still getting rid of fluids from the hospital stay I.V. Everyone told me it would start getting better and I believe it has. Thanks again to all those here supporting one another.

3 days post op, feeling a little sore, gave up the Protein Shake this morning for yogurt, did well. Still having what feels like spasms when drinking anything cold. Love the refried Beans and cheese idea. Wasn't really told what to eat or drink until my 2 wk check up except liquids, and a total of 2 liters a day (I didn't drink that much before surgery) gonna get out and start walking first of the week. Any food tips from other recent sleeve ppl is appreciated. Good luck to everyone going thru the post op and getting ready for your turn! So glad I did it!!

My stage 2 foods are cottage cheese, yogurt, sugar free pudding, cream of Soups (without the of part of the soup lol), soy milk. And I can still do stage 1 Clear Liquids Water, Decaf tea or coffee, sugar free Jello, broths etc. I'm on these stage for he next 2-4 weeks depending on how thugs go and what my dr feels. I can't move on till he says it's ok. I'm also glad I did this and so far still don't really feel hungry at all.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
