I have not been given a date yet but they have told me I should be ready in June barring any hold ups with insurance. I am hoping that they give me my date at my next appt. at the end of this month. I am actually not sure which procedure I will be aproved for yet either (sleeve or rny).

Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you!

I just realized I'll be on my pre op diet for my bday too! Lots of us with June bdays & now re-bdays! Time is going so slow, I cannot wait!!

Here's a question (or two) for everyone!

1. What won't you miss about being fat?

2. What can't you wait to do once you lose your weight?

I'll go first:

1. I won't miss shopping in Lane Bryant exclusively!!

2. I can't wait to be able to tuck a shirt in and be comfortable! I've never done that in my adult life!

Hmm what won't I miss?

Not fitting into seats at hockey games and movie theatres, let alone economy seating on planes.

I can't wait to buy a suit off the rack and to buy shoes with laces!... Lol

The best part is being able to actually live the fantasy of ... NORMAL ;0)

June 17th here.

I'm trying to begin weaning myself down to smaller meals in preparation to my 3 week pre-op diet. I do well during the day but evenings are when I really struggle.

I'm nervously excited about the surgery itself.

@@-_Gretchen_- I'm doing the same thing. It's rough! I've been on break this week, and I'm nervous that any good habits I've started are about to go out the window when I go back to work on Monday! FYI- I told my NUT about my weaning-plan, which includes a Protein Shake for one meal, and she said don't do more than the one because people get burnt out on them quickly and she doesn't want me hating them before I HAVE to start drinking them. On the upside, I've lost 8 pounds since I started!

@@cortonball thanks for the tip on only doing one Protein Shake a day. I have to agree that I can see burnout happening. They aren't that great if you ask me! I will try only doing one and eating something lite an healthy for the other two.

Hey all,

Scheduled for June 24th, all hoops jumped through etc, now just the waiting game. I was doing really well with preop lifestyle changes, no soda, three meals with a couple Snacks, Protein first, drinking all that good stuff. Now I am about 2 months away and all of the sudden feeling a little blah about it. I can't explain it-I was SUPER excited for the longest time!! The last couple weeks I've been slipping with not recording on myfitnesspal, but the actual eating has been okay. I'm hoping that it's just a normal part of this extended waiting game. Like I've read all there is to read (which obviously I haven't), or I've seen all the before and after pics I need to solidify this decision (although I always love seeing more!); maybe this blah feeling is just my brain's way of coping with having to wait 2 more months while being SO ready to just get started already!!! Anyone else feel that....at all?

@@relentless302, I went through that already, and I was actually ready to stop. One day, the thought of more pizza or ice cream just kind of turned my stomach, so I decided to take advantage of it! I have a feeling that I'll go through it again once I get a date nailed down though! Plus, my surgeon wants me to lose weight before the surgery, or he won't do it, so that sort of scared me straight! When I'm craving something, I just keep reminding myself that this level of restriction isn't forever. The best thing my surgeon said is that when this is all done, I will be a person, not a patient. Loved it. Good luck!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
