Sue - Congratts that is ONDERFUL!!!

I am slowwwly edging my way to 199 myself. I really wanted to be there by Thanksgiving but I know thats not going to happen now. I have been a little bummed about the scale but my clothes are really fitting a lot better. I actually have to buy size Large work out clothes now which is a reallllly good feeling.

You all are doing fabulous. Weight loss will probably slow down the more we have lost but keep your eye on the prize!!!

My girlfriend was over lastnight and I was showing her some new work out stuff I bought. She grabbed them from me and couldnt believe the size was L 12/14 (I thought I would never wear cute clothes again)!!! Sometimes I look in the mirror and am totally in awe of how I look now, at other times I look in the mirror and see the same person I did May 23rd.

All this weight loss is really changing who I am as a person and sometimes that is scary. I am more willing to do things without much thought, such as wacking my hair off. I am on track to get some major dental problems I have taken care of, before my surgery I felt ugly

Ragdoll,

You are so close to 199. It is very possible for you to be ther by Thanksgiving! I see you have had 4 fills. I just had my fifth. Somebody was telling me today that insurance will only pay for 5 fills. Have you heard anything like that.

I know what you mean about changing. I have allot more confidence now. I was always friendly and bubbly, but I feel like people are paying attention to me when I am friendly and bubbly. Isn't it a good feeling!

Blessings, Weazer

I understand what you're saying. I'm so much more comfortable in my own skin (even if it is getting kind-of saggy). I feel so "normal" now, even if I am still the biggest person in the room I'm not longer the "elephant". Leaving that "Morbid" label behind was huge. I don't feel like people are staring.

How exciting, Melissa!!! I'll be thinking of you tomorrow on your BIG DAY.

Weazer and Sue, I was just telling my husband this past weekend that I'm no longer self conscious about my body AT ALL. I feel like a normal person which is a phenomenal feeling. I had less than zero self confidence last May, but now I don't even think about it!

Mellisa....good luck tomorrow and make sure that during your day you actually step back for a minute, take a breath and watch everyone enjoying themselves. Sometimes it goes so fast that it is all all a blur. I hope you have a ball! SEND PICTURES!!!

Legster- I just told my husband the same thing, I am starting to look and feel normal! He of course does not get it but my bandmates here know what I mean. I do not feel like large Marge wherever I go!

scale victory....it feels like yesterday I hit onederland but today.....176.4!!! 1.4 lbs to go and I will be half way!!! I wanted to be at the half way mark by 6 months and I should make it......was banded on the 21st.

So for you that are just hitting onderland, in no time at all it will be a distant memory!

Love you guys!

Maureen

Melissa - Wow! the big day is here! You are going to look and feel gorgeous in your wedding dress and you don't have to hide behind anyone at picture time. You should be so proud of yourself. My advice is try and remember every moment of the day because afterwards it sort of feels like it was all a dream. Have a very fun and relaxing honeymoon, wish I could go to Hawaii!

Melissa,

Congrads! How exciting how wonderful! 2008 is going to be such a great year for you!

Leg, I feel so much better too. Isn't is funny how loosing a few pds can make such a difference! I am tearing down walls that I built with my own hands. Letting people in. Enjoying myself and letting people enjoy me.

Maureen - 176! Whoo Hoo happy dance! I can't wait to be there too! I will so good when I reach the one seventies. Right now just waiting to get to the 180's (I think I may be there but wont wght till Dec 1rst). I am not eating much after that 5th fill. Really really full with just little bits of food. I am kinda having a problem with this tightness. I wake up in the morning and have trouble with feeling like I have something stuck. I am gurgling and bubbles are sqeaking out of my throat. I think it's the saliva (I hate saying that word out loud...I am such a pruddy). Everything is sticking now. I will try it for a week or two and see what happens. I don't want to end up like Sandra and get all dehydrated. I didn't even bother with Breakfast because It felt like I was stopped up. I had alittle chopped chicken in BBQ Sauce for lunch but it wasn't going down good so went and got some fat free frozen yogert (about a cup) and it went down perfect of course. Can't live on yogert.

Blessings all and have a wonderful weekend!

Weazer

Raydoll!

I am so excited for you...why you may be 199 right at this minute! you skinny thing you! I am so excited this morning. I put on a shirt this morning that I had bought about 2 years ago even though it didn't fit. I really liked it and my thinking at the time was...I'm going to diet and get into this very soon. Never happened. Well, this morning I was digging for something to wear and though I'd try it on and it fits perfect. No tighness across the chest or tummy! Course now it is a bit out of style. I don't like it as much as I did two years ago, but heck, happy dance it fits! I didn't have any gurgling or squeaking this weekend. I am still having to take the tiniest bites of food...I am PB on the first bite of almost everything..but then I can finish the bowl after that first PB. Strange, but I am very very happy with my band!

Hope everybody had a great weekend. Can't wait to hear you NSV's

Blessings, Weazer

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
