May 2007 Banders

Recommended Posts

I went on a plateau breaker Monday and have lost 5 lbs since then! I had only lost 4 lbs in an entire month and it scared me so I decided to get tough. It is the best decision I have made in awhile. I also am at 200 lbs even this morning..hopefully tomorrow will be onederland!

I have on a size 10 pants today and realized I haven't been that size since 1988 and then it was for a class reunion so I gained it ALL back and then some within a few months.

I just ordered a Body Bugg as I am getting closer to goal and need to be accountable for my exercise.

Everyone is doing great. It is hard to believe it has been almost six months.....I am loving my band!

UUUGGG......frustration has kicked in!!! The scale is hardely moving!! I have lost 2 lbs in 3 weeks!!!!! This is the first time I have hit this stage. I have only had one fill and that was back in June. So I think its time for a FILL. I have never been able to eat bread or rice or Pasta. Well I have been testing the waters....and all of it goes down. NO PBing! I have 24 lbs to be at my "first" goal weight.

Let me start by saying my husband has been VERY supportive the entire time. He has been fabulous about giving me compliments and being sincere about them. He has made me feel much hotter than I really am at this point... but I am on my way!

Well yesterday I had a pair of pants on that I bought new and had been way too tight a month ago, I had to tighten the waist on them to make them fit! He tells me "wow babe you are starting to look normal." I know this was a compliment and I thanked him as if it were one but really it hurt my feelings and knocked my self esteem down a notch or two. I didnt tell him this because I dont want him to stop complimenting me for fear of saying the wrong thing.

I guess sometimes it hurts for someone else to point out how awful you looked even though you know the truth and you are changing. This is as much of an emotional journey as it is physical I guess.

I understand your pain ragdollx19. Just keep in mind that 'normal' is what we're all shooting for. It's hard for me to admit to folks that I'm down 80lbs and STILL overweight. The thing is that we really DID look that way, and people were just nice enough to not say too much about it back then

Someone asked how 199 feels. Part of me wants to Celebrate (bring on a milkshake :)), part of me knows how far the distance still is. The big thing is that I'm not longer "that big guy". I'm still overweight, but it's not the primary descriptor anymore. That's the thing worth celebrating, not a number on a scale.< /p>

I have 160 listed as a goal, but that will likely change. I have a personal trainer and am doing hardcore strength training, and thanks to the fat/muscle density differences it's likely that I will look 'good enough' well above 160

Ragdollx19,

I know exactly what you are feeling! I think one of the main reasons I got so big was because my husband always told me I looked good. He never once told me I was fat or big or anything in that desciption. I knew what the scale said and I knew the truth...just took me a while to realize that I wasnt ok! Sometimes we get back handed compliments! Just take them and let it go. The people that love you the most, will hurt you the most w/ words. Just remember that you are BETTER.....and will continue to feel better, look better every day!!!

I got some discouraging news today... I may have heel spurs. I've been dealing with an ache in my right foot since August..and have been waiting for it to go away... well, it hasnt..and now I have an appointment with my foot Dr. on the 24th.

Melissa, that is bad news...i'm soooo sorry. Is there anything they can do to remove them? (sorry if I sound ignorant...I honestly don't even know what they are)

Macysgranny...

That is SOOOOOO cool. I'm 5 lbs away and I'm going to be dancing too!!!

Melissa...

I've had cortisone shots for heel spurs, it took 2 rounds but it did help. I won't tell you how long the needle is that they stick in your heel! Try stretching and exercises before you shoot them up. Calf stretching is REALLY important!

I'm feeling a little jealous of all you onederland people. I am adjusting to my third fill and the scale is moving slowly down but it still seems a long way to go some times. I need to get back on track with the rules as far as no sugar!!!! Drink Water!!!! No Ice-cream!!!

Just wondering for some of you with different docs, what are your eating restrictions that the doctor says as far as what you should or shouldn't be eating?

sjrgilman, i can totally relate.

if i look at the whole thing, overtime, since my original banding, its a nice change, but since my rebanding ive only lost 25 lbs.

?

heres the kicker....ive regularly done aerobic and cardio, regular gym work, and i have proper restriction. Im not eating junk, im not eating out even, and thats including when i fly down to the apt in houston for fills. Ive also closed a studio and moved into an apartment since. Im in regular contact with my dr, but hes happy because this past month id lost almost twenty of those lbs. I was too tight and had been on JUST liquids for a month.

im also at a much higher bmi than alot of you guys, i would have thought that would have made this come off faster? I just dont know. Im focusing on solids right now.

Im going to have to do something. Im unsure what...

Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted on the thread..

I was banded on 5/10/07 and so far feeling great.. It seems lately that the scale is moving much slower than it did at first.

I have 2 cc's in my 4cc band and I believe I have pretty good restriction. My last fill was WAY TO TIGHT and that was the worse feeling ever. I do not want to have that ever again... I'll stick with the band being a little loose than tight!

Congrats to all of you who have made it to ONEDERLAND! I'm on my way.. I have 7.5lbs to go and it seems like this is where I'm stuck! I'll make it there one day! :whoo: and once I do, you'll ALL hear about it!

Good luck to everyone... I think I'll check in more often. It's nice to "read/talk" to people that are in the same boat with around the same time frame working with them!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
